Some guy that claims to know the family of Chad Kelly on another board is saying this morning that Freeze has already told them that all is well if this ends up "alright". I assume that means charges are dropped and/or reduced - Kelly will be your starting QB.

I will say this - if I am Ryan Buchanan's parents, I am finding another school to attend if Kelly still gets his scholly.

Just for the record, Kelly literally got in a fist fight with Dabo and was kicked off of Clemson's team. Now, he has fought the cops.

I predict this ends badly for Freeze. It is amazing how often coaches stick their necks out to win and it bites them in the end. Masoli ushered in the beginning of the end for Nutt. Heck, part of Chizik's problem in the end at Auburn was the "assumption of guilt" relative to paying for Newton and an inability to win thereafter. Miles allowing Jordan Jefferson back on the team resulted in an embarrassment in the national title game - a loss that LSU has not recovered from in reality.

Here is the fight video with the bouncers...

He apparently had already been hit and spit blood on a bouncer.

Freeze needs to cut bait. This is not going to play out well for the Rebels.

Ole Miss has recently established a history of turning the cheek and saying we are helping these young men develop, seems as if the trend continues.

I think your post is spot on except this quote about Masoli...couldn't be further from the truth or reality of the Coach Houston Nutt era at Ole Miss. Beginning of the end for Nutt was when Coach O's recruits were gone and he had to stock talent and actually do his job...had ZERO to do with Masoli. Masoli probably shouldn't have been given the opportunity and was a fun bit of media and banter for opposing fans, but he was there and he played his season and he left..much to do about nothing there as for his time in Oxford, his impact positive or negative on Ole Miss and Nutt in the big picture was minuscule

Spot on...I agree 100%. Every QB on the roster with any chance of playing time should turn in walking papers.

No matter what, Buchannan isn't going anywhere. He's there for the long haul no matter if he plays or not. The family has WAY to much money invested in Oxford and UofM for him to walk.

After looking at the video it appears the bouncer started it and we all know that could be a possibility. If so I side with Kelly.

Now as for the assault on a police officer - that is all on Chad Kelly. It is like what was said above, he should have taken his ride downtown and lets things get settled.

As for Freeze saying he will be alright. I think that is a bunch of BS. Freeze is going to wait until everything is settled to make a decision. I will say this - The charges against the bouncer could very well be dropped but is the charges against the police are just dropped we all have bigger problems than Chad Kelly with everything going on in the US now. If police charges are dropped it may come to light that they used excessive force and I just don't think we need that on the news right now.

As for my opinion, I think he should have been told up front to stay out of situations like this and should be let go immediately for putting himself in this situation

Guys the problems the law officers are having these day go well above sports and if he assaulted an officer he should be severely punished.

This all that matters...he shouldn't have been out in the middle of a bunch of $#!+ at 3 am. For that he burnt the bridge

Apparently, according to media reports...he and his buddies were asked to leave. One buddy was kicked out and snuck back in...fight breaks out...Kelly is punched inside. Then video rolls and we see what happens outside. Then he fights with the police.

Hard to justify that kind of behavior, under any circumstance.

Freeze has gone out of his way to state that they are running a program the right way. I understand that Miles, Richt, Fisher and even Saban would likely not bat an eye at this behavior, but it seems that Freeze, if we are to take him at his word, needs to cut bait.

Moreover, I personally saw Ross Bjork speak at an FCA banquet. He made reference to running a program the right way as well. Then Marshall Mathers showed up to play B-Ball.

I think my point is that they have put themselves in a position by their own proclamation of doing this different and better. Therefore, rightfully or not, the scrutiny will be greater as well.

Personally, I am all for second chances (facts specific). However, as my mom used to tell me, you lay down with dogs you get fleas. If they keep laying down with these dogs, it will cost them eventually.

bears should be careful how hard you slam this young man. He's still very likely to be your QB next year. Plea bargains and the like have a way of making these things seem more tolerable.

truthfully, i would be surprised if his scholly is pulled. it's all misdemeanor stuff and i'm sure some of the charges will "disappear" for various reasons. not necessarily saying i agree with it but that would be bet as to how it play out.

I'm just glad I don't have to pull for him.

Seriously, looking at this from an OMU perspective ---- man, what do you do? You can't be too excited about mixing this guy with the party scene in Oxford. Can you say, "perfect storm," or maybe, "Renardo Sidney part deux"? [i bet R Stansbury could tell Freeze a thing or two about character risks.] But what's the contingency? I've heard Kincaid is gawn. Kelly signed a LOI, so isn't the scholly burned?

Maybe roll the dice, tweet more Bible verses about salvation, let the attorneys do what they do, and see what happens?

Glad I don't have to pull for the guy.

How many times have we seen wallace get up in a teammates grill or run his mouth on the sideline or push an opposing player on the field out of frustration. I will take him.

Well 11 days after I said this^^^ I say This.... I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong. Walk away from this Marshall Henderson retread now before it's too late. If he can't make it 2 dang weeks without screwin the pooch then he's not gonna make it a couple of years in Oxford. He couldn't even wait to get on campus before getting into a major altercation. If he is not cut loose then Freeze or any other person who gives a rip about the university should not be shocked when they get a phone call at 3am from OPD/UPD that kelly has skull drug a frat boy in a bar and put him in the hospital or worse and we get left with no QB mid season. Cull him from the herd Coach Freeze!!!
