Has Petrino hit rock bottom or is he still in denial? Who knows. I can't see anyone in any of the big conferences taking a chance and giving him a head coaching job right now, maybe never. He may have to go out west to find a job.
^^^^ This is why I thought he'd land at Kentucky or a smaller job than Auburn/Tenn if in the SEC. No doubt, somebody is gonna take a shot on him...and probably get a lot of bang for their buck. I just think whether he has personally changed or not; he probably knows what it feels like to lose more than anybody should and won't do it to himself again.

Yea he knows the game of football better than 95% of other coaches, but he obviously knows nothing about life.
+1 As a parent would you really want Petrino as your son's coach....not me.

Lane Kiffin has the #1 recruiting class in the nation lined up. His entire career has been full of decept and questionable character issues. He recruiting coordinator is Ed Orgeron, who has been arrested and is known as less than reputable (sorry Ole Miss).
The bottom line is that everyone loves a winner. If Petrino were hired by Auburn, within a year, they would be a year in and year out 8-9 win team. When that happens, no one will care about the Falcons or Harleygate. Moreover, the kids all of the coaches are recruiting rarely have anything other than a mom or grandmother looking out for them anyway. These families are not like yours or mine.
As to webby, if you are arrogant enough to believe that Auburn COULD NOT beat Bama with Petrino, then more power to you. I doubt we will ever know one way or the other. Not gonna spend any more energy trying to convince you otherwise.

Whoa...some waddage of the panties. Just had to go back and read my posts....where did I say he would NEVER beat Bama?
First he has to get the job. Then we can speculate, so i will bite. He gets the job next year and is there for 5 years (while Saban is also at Bama). Based on everything I have seen over the last 4 games where he is 0-4 against Alabama/Saban, I would put money on that record being very similar. Maybe give penisboy one of the five. Law of averages says so.
And I'm not buying all the "Arkansas talent is inferior to Auburn" spin. Arkie has had just as much talent as Auburn over the last 3 years.
I'm getting the impression you are wanting me to say Alabama is invincible with Saban or you find it arrogant that I would never admit to losing to penisboy. Bring him on...again from everything I have seen, I like our chances.
Save your energy for something else.

he was arrested long time ago at a bar or restaurant, I think in Baton Rouge, for disturbing the peace/public intox type deal. Basically fighting and being rowdy in a public establishment, when he was a young grad assistant I think. Oh the horror...Coach O was different and I'm not at all gonna vouche that he didn't cross NCAA lines possibly as a coach, but he was just a rowdy loud cajun full of piss and vinegar...he wasn't the morally corrupt piece of crap he was made out to be and he was just in way over his head as a head coach in SEC, he wasn't Bobby Petrino

My understanding he was arrested for assault in a bar fight as well as domestic abuse.

Thanks Cam. That is the only thing that I was aware of ---all if which happened when he was a young grad asst. I thought maybe I had missed something new and recent.
Coach had his faults, but dishonesty wasn't one if them. He left the Ole Miss program better than he found it. While he was not a good head coach, he was and still is a very good DL coach and recruiter. He is doing what he was born to do, and getting paid quite well by USC to do it. Ironically, most of the current staff at Ole Miss were on Coach O's staff at Ole Miss, including now head coach Hugh Freeze.
I fail to see the equivalence of a youthful bar fight to what Petrino has done in 3 stops as a head coach. That is quite a stretch.

"But there was a time when Orgeron, once a rising star at the University of Miami where he ran the defensive line for four seasons under Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson, was deemed untouchable, almost unclean. Crazier than he should have been (and crazier yet when he drank), Ed was fired by the Hurricanes after he was arrested for head-butting a bouncer outside a Baton Rouge saloon two days before his 31st birthday."
this article tells the O story up until Sept of last year, I don't know about any domestic abuse charges in his past, this doesn't mention it...I know when he was at Ole Miss there was a lot of untruths about him that went viral...he's was, maybe is, bat-sh1t crazy but he hasn't been in nearly as much legal trouble as people assume...for a guy willing to work as hard to Ed Orgeron is, shame he is probably a career long assistant, just not the kinda leader it takes to be a H.C.

As much as I despise Lane Kiffin, I would have to say the things he has done in comparison to penisboy aren't really on the same level.
Not to mention, you can have all the five star players you want, but if they have questionable character issues themselves and you cant develop them on and off the field, then it really doesn't matter. Oddly enough, Aubrun has recruited a lot of blue chippers the last 3 years that fit that bill. Just sayin...
I think penizboy would have a tough time recruiting as he always has. Better hope Troop and Lup stick around...
If there are a good percentage of the Aubrun faithful that don't want him, I would imagine there might be quite a few mommas and daddies out there that wouldnt send their kid to him either.

I still hate kiffin more than any of them. He has no redeeming quality except a nice looking wife.
