Nowhere near the birds we had, but still managed to scratch a limit. Only hunted Saturday going to hit the Noxbee River today for some float fishing. Thankful for what we were given, though!

You fellas teal hunting be extra vigilant for cottonmouths they are pretty active right now! I have killed 3 so far scouting the place we hunted yesterday and my buddy had to shoot one yesterday while walking out. Well actually wallowing out would be a more accurate statement than walking out for the mud we were in. He had just about gotten back to the bank and was about to put his hand down to help get himself unstuck from the knee deep mud when he saw the cottonmouth go into a defensive posture getting ready to strike. He never would have seen it had it not moved!

I stepped out of the truck Friday afternoon onto one of those shoulder-less terrorist ..literally my first foot out of the truck stepped on its tail and we both freaked out! I had my 10mm in my hand since I was getting out to shoot a Nutria and I will say I shot three times before my feet returned to the ground! They say white men can't jump ha! I grazed it once mid body as he was retreating then it slid down the bank and crossed the small ditch where I killed it on the other bank. Took a minute for my heart rate to get back to normal!

Just watch out for them!

^^^i heard iron grip say he saw one walking in, but i wasn't looking for them...had i seen it (in the shin to knee deep moist soil muck) i might not have been able to think about anything but them for the next few hours!

I told my buddy to keep an eye out for them since I had seen several earlier in the week..he was fighting through the mud when I heard "oh #%+*" and then "Dude, he about got me"..I knew immediately what it was! Then he said "might wanna plug your ears" and well the threat ceased being a threat haha!
