Mottlet, what you fail to see is that young Manning can do no wrong in the eyes of all the Ole Miss fans! It was just plain stupid on his part, his dads and the agents part to tip their hand as early as they did. This gave the Chargers the ability to drag his name through the mud and the Chargers come out of this smelling like a rose with a player that wants to play there and the xtra draft pics. Eli looks like a prima donna, and I for one will not forget about this and I can assure you that the boys on the defensive side of the ball in the NFL will not forget about it either!

First off, to avoid any confusion, I am a proud Mississippi State Bulldog!

Secondly, I say more power to you, Eli. I wish you a long and successful carreer with a good team.

To the snipers out there, get over it.

I don't blame the Mannings one dang bit. If anybody needs to be blamed for the media circus, it is the G.M. of the San Diego Chargers for announcing Archie's comments to the media. He did it, not Archie.

And what kind of father would Archie be if he didn't say something when he was looking at his son going into the same sorry situation that he himself had been involved with in New Orleans; an abysmal team with incompetent management with no plan for the future.

Good luck, Eli.

Hey RedEyed...what have you been smoking to get those eyes so red?

The Chargers wanted Eli to be their quarterback. They said as much. Now, here's what I've seen: the Mannings refused to comment on why Eli didn't want to play in San Diego. There were repeated references to not wanting to drag the name of the Chargers through the mud. Eli and his dad tried the best they could to keep any mudslinging out of this. They wanted everything behind the scenes and never mentioned how bad the Chargers suck. Now, the Chargers were the ones who decided to go public, after Archie complied with their request to come to San Diego and then asked them to keep it quiet. They ignored him. Yeah, that's the kind of committment I want from the front office of the team I play for. Do something for them so they can turn around and jab the blade in my back.

If Eli had not "tipped his hand" he'd be a San Diego Charger, which he didn't want to be. Now he's in with an organization that he's happy with and is estatic to have him. How did he tip his hand?

That trade could have been orchestrated today, tomorrow or any day before the deadline. I do respect Archie for not trashing the SD front office but I think that he (Archie and the gang) left the door wide open for the knife in the back. I too agree that the Chargers suck but with prima donna atheletes like this the bad teams will never get better. Eli's performance in the NFL really does not matter to me as I do not follow it like BAMA football. I have no team I just watch and drink a few after the college season is over. I will be watching to see how those defensive players treat Eli in the coming season though. I have said it once and will say it again, they should not have given the Chargers the ability to make them look bad.

Well according to one of the New York newspapers, apparently those fans yelling may not have been Giant fans. When Eli arrived at Giant stadium wearing #10, which he negotiated with punter Jeff Feagle by paying for his family to take a Florida vacation next year, he was cheered by several thousand Giant fans.

It would have cost a lot more than a vacation for me to give up my # back in my playing days. If I was a Giants fan, I'd be glad to have Eli as well. Lets just see how the opposing defenses receive him.

Did Jason White, the heisman winner, even get drafted?

Looked in the paper but did not see his name.

HEY EVERYBODY !!!!!

THERE IS A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE TWIXT HIM AND MOST OF US !!!!

Eli is a RICH boy ! We're talkin bout someone who would never ever "WANT" for anything,....even if he decided never to play the first down of Pro football ! Daddy has his ass covered,..... therefore it seems OK for him to sit back and pick his shots ! Can't say as I blame da boy !
Wouldn't want to get his blazer and Dockers dirty !

THE OTHER HAND !!!!

Busky is not a rich boy (me)!!! So I woulda jumped on the first multi-million dollar deal to come down the pike !
I wouldn't care if they wanted me to play naked ! Big WHOOP !
Just "SHOW ME DA MONEY" !!!!

I don't care "where" he plays,.... he gonna get hit on dis next level !

Can he handle it ?....... Time will tell !

I'm thinkin he'll do just fine !

Rip Em !
OFFSEASON ?,..... Ain't no such thing !

yada yada yada, yada yaa yaa yada. yada yyaa yyyaada.

"The Manning Family" this whole situation is sounding alot like "the Corleone family".
Here's my two cents
People in positions of power can do more for anybody than someone not so blessed. Eli's dad was a great player in the NFL, who also has not really left the limelight of his acomplishments. Man of Power.
Peyton- Eli's brother isa great player in the NFL and has enough money to make everyone on this forum a rich man. Man of Power.
The Mannings are wealthy Edgerin James is rich. If E.J. had a brother coming into the draft in any number he could at least influence his brothers deal. On the other hand the Manning Family orchestrated a deal that really helped out Both San Rego and The manning child.
All that being said I'll switch to another secenario. When I came out of college my parents did everything in their power to get me settled into the real world. They wanted the same for me as the Manning family does for their son the best possible deal and my happiness. That' s the family model in this country parents taking care of their kids. I would do the same for mine.
