According to Stans he has it under control and there are no problems. He still thinks they should be in the tourney. Gets defensive when asked about what is wrong with this team. This is looking a lot like the Polk ending. Hope it don't get ugly and Stans walks away quietly and gracefully.

They still have a chance to make the tourney.2 teams out of Seton Hall, state, Drexel, Washington, and iona will likely make it. Our resume is far and away the best in that group. Hopefully the committee remembers screwing us in 2010 and makes up for it.

State may get it, but I really do not see why they should get in. If State really wanted to make a statement to the NCAA folks, they should have taken care of business in the SEC Tournament. You all lost to Georgia in the first round by 10 points. I am not knocking, just saying that the Bulldogs should have made up their minds that they wanted to be in the NCAA Tournament and gone out and made it to Saturday/semi-finals, at the least. Georgia finished the year at 15-17, 5-11 against SEC teams.

I don't think any of us believe State should get in.

They're out and shouldn't accept the nit bid.

I find that hard to believe, unless they have some inside knowledge that state would not accept an invitation. No way a NCAA bubble team doesnt get an NIT offer. Maybe they wont and Stansbury will hit the road!

at least they got mentioned as a snubbed team.

from ESPN.
Mississippi State Bulldogs (21-11, 8-8 SEC; RPI: 73; SOS: 87)
What the committee would say: We care about the entire body of work. We really do. But we also reserve the right to evaluate a team as it currently is, not as it was earlier in the season, and the bottom line is this: The Bulldogs collapsed down the stretch. MSU lost six of its final eight games, including two games to Georgia, one to LSU and one to Auburn. We watch teams play, and when we watched Rick Stansbury's, we saw a disjointed, disinterested bunch who looked ripe for early upset. Besides, it's not like the body of work is overwhelming. MSU has two good wins -- over Alabama and at Vanderbilt -- and really not much else. And that 73 RPI? Yeah, that's not good.

What the fans would say: Oh ... it ... we ... we have no response.

Strickland needs to give a call to Stan Jones. not sure if any one has noticed but when the game is on the line he has the clipboard and marker in his hand...not hamilton.....FSU beat duke and UNC twice this year......unles they fall flat FSU is gonna run deep this year.

i know he is not a "face guy" like all colleges want but he can flat coach. i played for him in high school, and everywhere he goes (except the NBA) his teams have improved each year.

this guy is from the memphis area, coached high school there and in MS and spent one year at MSU on staff between the NBA and FSU. that year was the year MSU recieved its highest NCAA seed ever. (3 seed)

people keep talking about Stansbury as a great recruiter but there are tons of good recruiters and very few good coaches. he can find the players plus he can take a mid level player and make him good.
why worry when you can panic!

Never heard of him, but I don't think Stans OWNS a clipboard. I'm in.
