I never said he was a bad dog, just a bad retriever. Only thing that gets me is he thinks its full blooded, registered and I think he got scammed.

Ought not talk about a man's dog, no matter what you think. And especially not to his face.

He was a stray I found on the street, but by far the best dog I have ever had.

rawalley, your dog was a stray and you had no idea of his background / pedigree. He is a good looking dog and I'm sure you had and still have feelings for him...
Point is;
your friend may also have the same feelings for his dog. When it comes to dogs, there is a fine line as to picking and dissing... I personally would never ever rag a man about his dog. No matter if he has Pittbrador or a Labradane... You know what I mean.

One man's trash is another man's treasure... This is a quote that I firmly believe. :wink:

I keep saying this over and over. The only issue I have is that he is claiming to have papers and a full blooded lab. I cant disprove his pedigree or want to but I think a breeder scammed him. Its not the dogs fault that he is not a champion retriever, my buddy just hasnt trained him enough.

you could always pay $65 at vet to have a dna test done...if it bothers you that bad. :lol:

we've thought about it for our mutt, but can't bring ourselves to pay $65 to see what she is besides predominantly australian shepherd.

+1 on that.

We had this neighbor one time that had a dog that was a cross between a Chihuahua, German Shepherd, and a Cocker Spaniel; with a touch of Newfoundland thrown in for good measure. It was the one butt ugliest animal on four legs. Now, this thing wouldn't retrieve worth a darn. (It kept swallowing the birds whole, for some uncontrolable reason.) But it would heard the birds so that you could shoot 'em easier, and when it flushed them out of hiding, it could usually catch one or two in mid air. Of course, he finally had to get rid of the creature, on account of it's infernal yapping all night long. Besides, it kept scaring the cat that lived next door.

I'd have to see other pictures to say that that dog looked like anything other than a wet lab with ears laid back.
