Y'all can hop all over this new engine if you want to, but I will never ever ever ever buy another first year run of a new engine. I learned my lesson the hard way with the new 5.4 they rolled out in '04. Just google 2004 F150 5.4 and see how many problems they had with this engine. I replaced mine at 96K and I know of 3 other guys in Cleveland that had to replace them way sooner than I did. I won't ever be Ford's guinea pig again.

I had a 99 model 5.4 in a ford 4x4 and had no problems out of it, but my brother had the King Ranch F150 with the 04 5.4 and had problem after problem with it. They had alot of bugs in the 6.6 liter diesel also imnot mistaken. We used one on a land rig in Texas and it crapped out all the time.

Sorry if we are, but there used to be an obnoxious member on here that has been kicked off several times. He went by the name quackheadbp, redleg3316 or something like that, and has even tried to post under his buddies name. Funny thing is, that he was caught on another board bragging to his buddies over there that he "walked" wanted to be deleted....which is entirely not the case. He even stooped so low as to throw his own kid under the bus. Said one minute that he was a perfectly heathly kid, then in another when being called out about not being about to handle the heat, said his kid was born sickly. He would constantly post useless stuff on every single post, stir the pot and such. He was a walking contradiction....among other words. Heck this guy even worked in the oil field too. I guess your post has a strinking similarity and that is what these guys are thinking. To avoid confusion and clear this matter up, why dont you post your name...first or last...and see if it is the same. If not, then we'll appologize and move on. We just dont want another guy like him on here. He did some things that could have gotten people in trouble at their office computer as well.

I can tell you that you really need to watch out on these tow ratings from the factory.. Every single half ton truck now days is rated at 10k pounds... But that aint real world ratings.. In 2006 I bought a little 26' travel trailer and then went looking at trucks to pull it.. Ended up with a 2006 Chevy crew cab 4x4 rated at that time for 7500 pounds.. Well my travel trailer is 5000 lbs empty... Did the truck pull it yest Was it enjoyable or feel "safe".. NO.. I started reading on RV Forums and found out I was way under trucked. I did a lot of reading on people that had issues with half tons pulling trailers, especially long trailers over 30ft... Thread after thread of accidents and fatalities.. Not long after that I noticed that a guy in our neighborhood had bought a new 31' Travel Trailer and a new 2008 Half Ton 4x4 z71 rated for 9800lbs I think. The trailer probably was 6-7klbs. One day driving into the neighborhood he was hooked up and ready to roll. I told my wife that was too much trailer for that truck.. A few months later I found out that the guy, his wife and 2 other friends were headed to Talladega for the weekend and he lost control of the trailer, flipped the truck and killed his wife and another person in the truck.

It's not the horse power or torque that makes for "easy" pulling.. You got to have the right suspension on it to. Go ride in a F150 or 1500 then go ride in a F250 or 2500HD and it won't take long to know why the heavy dutys are rated Heavy Duties.. Don't let those factory tow ratings fool you. When you start seeing Ford put those ecoboosts in the F250 then you know it is really rated for pulling..

This is getting farther OT.... but you also really got to look at what equipment you are using to hook the trailer up. Obviously a big bumper pull trailer will have a ton of tongue weight which although might be in your trucks overall weight category for it to be able to pull..... you aren't set up properly. I see more and more squatted to hell trucks pulling bumper pull trailers that SHOULD be using a weight distributing hitch. HP/TQ are one thing..... braking is another.... and proper brakes on a heavy trailer and a properly set controller will all go along way to help stabilize the load. A truck that is not super squatted with decent load distribution on it's tires is also key..... otherwise you are asking for a disaster when a panic situation develops.

Ain't gonna happen! If you put that little motor in the max hp range max torque range (rpm wise) and keep it there two things are gonna happen.
1. Fuel millage is gonna go to hell in a hand basket

2. It won't make it out of it's warrenty period before a major mechanical issue!

Automakers know most people won't do this and it's their out to make products look more appealing. But for good ole fashion work you still can't beat the other. SIZE DOES matter in some things!
Ever heard of Porsche & Ferrari?

You're just not watching the right kind of racing. NASCAR is not quite up to speed yet.

This should help you understand a little better….
He’s a roughneck, you’re a roughneck, drives the same model truck with the same miles, post frequency & tone is identical, both are partial to the number 33, both have 2 sons,
your advise has an inconsistent theme - redleg3316quackheadbp’s advice was often as inconsistent as yours. One minute, he was praising God, the next minute he was wanting to take a stick to someone’s head……….the list goes on & on.
