Nah, zip code ain't gonna get it. We need homestead exemption filings. I believe there should be some exceptions given to the likes of JDGator, Crow, and a very few others. All others, pay up sucka!!

More than a few folks, but far from the majority, have organized events or sale of tshirts, decals and duck calls to raise money and keep the lights on around here, not to mention a few sponsorships. Doubt Micah would go for the $10 fee, but it's not a bad idea.

What about Bull Nettle? Isn't it State-run and operated?

My intention for this post was not to start running things like our new draw system. But I would not be opposed to a forum devoted only to Mississippi duck hunters. I doubt you could regulate that and it would be more trouble then it is worth.

Ain't that the truth. There have been some threads on here that are just priceless.

Here's an idea in regards to the $10 deal. It's kinda like a raffle. Donate $10 into a "pot" after about a week or so to give everyone time to get their donations in, draw a name out of the people who made donations, that person gets 1/2 the pot and the other goes to the site.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

No. About the time the State was pulling the plug on the mdwfp forum, a couple of the volunteer mods decided they'd start up another forum. Format was very similar to the State site but I can assure you it is not a State site.

I actually was able to join as a result of that thread (thanks huntersmky). I think the main thing most were complaining about was applying and not hearing anything. I thought maybe I didn't pass the background check or something (how'd they find out I used to direct midget skin flicks?!?). Maybe a note on the registration page saying you need a sponsor or something like that.

Anyway, glad to be here and to know that I made the cut. 8)

Actually that is a pretty great idea about having to have a member sign off on you or sponsor you.
