I think I may change my pics of the week now, J State may have a chance. Not bad mouthing but he would have been the only experienced offensive talent on the field. Now there will be a freshman that has lil to no experience, and even less development time due to Masoli being in camp.

Might want to check on the whole "freshman with lil to no experience" thing. Actually, Nathan Stanley is a Sophomore and played a very large portion of the Cotton Bowl this year and did a pretty good job. Mackey will be second string and well his record at JUCO speaks for himself.

I think we will be ok at QB. Does losing Masoli, or never gaining him hurt? hell yes it does, but life goes on. We knew this is going to be a rebuilding year and Masoli would have helped but oh well.

That's the NCAA for you. The written rule clearly allows for the transfer and eligibility. The NCAA claims it violates the "spirit" of the bylaw.

Might be time for a new joke there Jumbo. What I was pointing out was the fact that EMCC won the state in JUCO last year and Mackey was at the helm. Does that mean he will be great? No, it just means that he has a "lil" experience and is not like a true freshman walking onto the field.

But hey with Masoli not getting cleared maybe your piggies can actually beat the man you hate/coach you wish you still had on the field.

I dont sympathize with Mississippi in any way, shape, or form, but I will say that this is BS and this shiznit with the NCAA is really starting to pizz me off. Sydney, Rose, Masoli, etc, etc.

I'm not surprised....ala my first post on this thread about the situation...however, I believe Ole Miss is fine with Stanley. He was a quality recruit out of high school and he has got to learn like any other QB cutting his teeth in the SEC. It's not like he is a freaking walkon from some MSPA 2A school. He is better than anything on MSU roster, so i wouldn't laugh too loudly.

I am not upset that they ruled him ineligible, i am upset that it took this long to make a ruling that was most likely made weeks ago. Rules are rules and I understand that. We tried to circumvent a rule hoping to add a good quarterback to our roster. Are we any worse off for trying...no. And to those folks saying that he is going to leave...guess again. I was told this morning that he is going to stay this year and sit out/red shirt and come back next year. Just to give the old Middle finger to the NCAA.
