In all honesty, it's probably ok for woodies, which have a limit of 2 or 3 I believe. I would go check it out, but that takes time and effort.

thanks for the post. i realize it takes time and effort to scout. i'm not new to the scouting game. i spend just as much or more time scouting than i do hunting. its just i didn't want to waste my time driving 10 hrs. to figure out if there were a few wood ducks on it. if someone was asking about private land in the area i hunt i would have no problem telling them there were ducks in the area. i would much rather someone hunt that land and keep the ducks off of it so maybe they'll go to the places i'm hunting and have a better shot at killing more ducks. otherwise if no one is hunting it and no one is poaching it. its just acting like another refuge

i wasn't asking anyone to go look at the land for me. just if there were ducks in the general area. and if you don't hunt that area then you should have kept you mouth shut in the first place. but if you did i guess all the "looking" would already have been taken care of in seasons past

I tried to answer his question. There are a few wood ducks, until you run them out, or booger and junebug hear you shooting them. If you are going to drive 10 hours round trip for mallards/big ducks, you will be underwhelmed. Dat's why I live HERE, but drive "elsewhere" to hunt ducks. However, if you are into tarballs.....or alligators....or meth.....

LOL!!! None taken. You know I'm not too awful bad about it or I would have never rode in that truck with an Auburn tag on each end. I do think it may have given me some sort of rash on my back side though. I'll get Bigwater to check it out for me.

Cuz, I ain't a duck hunter so you know you're gonna hear the truth from me.....I live about 25 minutes from some land I deer hunt on, that Leaf River passes thru.....a few wood ducks at best....I have actually seen mallards in this part of the state twice in the past 30 years....my brother and I were trapping beavers and otters in a "pay-to-fish" lake about 25 years ago....had a real cold spell and 2/3 of the lake froze over....went to check traps one morning and about 50 mallards got up out of the open water....the other time was last year during the cold snap, the first week of January....was working close to Claude Bennett lake and drove thru to look at the new office/headquarters building....lo and behold there were 6 mallards on the lake that morning with the coots....see a few buffleheads every now and then... honestly, this part of the state is a duck wasteland..............

here's some advice, IF there are ducks there(which i'm sure there are at least a couple) they most likely will be wood ducks. not that there is anything wrong with a wood duck but i for one would not drive 10 hrs round trip to shoot no more than 3 ducks. i don't care if that place had thousands of woodies on it. there has to be somewhere closer to you where you could get the same results. now if it does have a few thousand woodies occupying it, give me a holler and we'll go sling some steel. good luck
