Scott, why won't they let you use e-callers during regular season as long as you don't take any specks or ducks?

Federal law prohibits the use of any electronic calls during any open waterfowl season. The conservation order is not a hunting season, thus electronic calls are allowed. One can look at this year's conservation order dates, as well as past year's dates, and see how the conservation order starts and stops around duck and goose seasons. Look how it starts and stops around this year's youth waterfowl weekend for example.

Double R 2 with 200 rags wants to go
pntailhntr with 100 rags wants to go
dukdum wants to go
engell has 100 rags wants to go
Wingman can find us a spot to hunt
JT want to go
bluwtr want to go
Ducksbeus want to go
left horn wants to go

I hope I have not left anyone out. It appears that we may be able to put together a hunt with at least 400 rags and 10 to 15 hunters including me. Wingman if you can get us a spot, how does one morning after Christmas sound? With the way the holidays are falling, several of us are off until after the New Year. Hows does this sound to the entire group? This hunt may just happen. I think it will be great to get a bunch of us together. Let us know.

Even the electronic callers don't work as good as they did 4 to 5 years ago. First year when you turned it on, the geese would fall into your decoys. Now they circle a little and leave. Some still come in, but it is not as good as it use to be. Most everyone that goose hunts have these callers. I have gone to using mostly sillouttes and shells. It seems to be working better than rags.

This is my duckhole two weeks ago, I haven't looked but they have probably eat it out by now. They definetly thick around here, this is about 10,000 geese, they go all the way out of site and around the corner another half mile. Plenty of speckle bellies, the only thing worth shooting in the bunch.

What classifies as "light geese?"

light= snow, blue, Ross

dark=Canada species, brant, white-front(specks)

I'm free on 26, 27, 30, 31 and Jan 1.

I think we're gonna need more than 400 rags, though. I may be wrong, but 400 looks like trash on the ground compared to 15,000 geese in the next field. I have at my disposal approximately 7 dozen Canada and speck silos and shells. Got another 3 dozen speck shells but they are borrowed and I'd hate for something to happen to them...like maybe Ramsey shooting their heads off or something. ;)

Also gonna be hard to hide 15 folks. 6 or 8 is pushing it in my experience.

So for right now (during the regular season), the limit on Snows is 20? And while I am playing dumb, the Snows are the white ones that seem to be everywhere.

The limit on Speckle bellys is 3 ?

Am I right, or just one confused Alabamian?

2 Specks, 3 Canadas, 20 snows/blues. Never see brants so I don't remember the limit.

If you boys can get a day with fog, then it won't be hunting it will be killing.
Next best is a day with big wind. I will give you my 500 texas rags if I get up that way. Jack

I am working on getting a few dozen silhoutes and some more rags. If a guy is planning on hunting, he needs to bring something to the spread. It is just fair. Let's try to focus in on the dates that Wingman posted.

If everyone that has said they want to hunt is serious about it. Then send a pm containing when you can hunt and the number of rags, sils, or dekes that you will be bringing. We will try to decide on a date and let everyone know when and where.
