LSU won in Baton Rouge last year, 14-13.

The main reason LSU will win=DEFENSE.

And #93 Chad Lavalais (see below if you don't believe me)

BATON ROUGE -- LSU defensive tackle Chad Lavalais is one of five finalists for the 2003 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to college football's outstanding defensive player, the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club announced on Tuesday.

Joining Lavalais on the list of finalists are Oklahoma defensive tackle Tommie Harris and cornerback Derrick Strait, UCLA defensive end Dave Ball and West Virginia linebacker Grant Wiley.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be presented to the winner on Dec. 8 in Charlotte, N.C. Lavalais, a 6-3, 292-pound senior from Marksville, La., is the anchor for an LSU defense which ranks tops in the country in fewest points allowed per game at 8.9 a contest and ranks second in the nation in rushing defense with 60.8 yards per contest. Overall, the Tigers rank fourth in the nation in total defense, allowing 259.7 yards per contest.

In 10 games this year, Lavalais has recorded 43 tackles, 12 of which have gone for losses. He also leads the Tigers with six quarterback sacks totaling 48-yards in losses to go along with 18 quarterback hurries. He's also blocked one field goal and intercepted a pass.

Lavalais, a First Team All-Southeastern Conference pick in 2002, earned SEC Player of the Week honors following LSU's 31-7 win over Auburn on Oct. 25. Last week, Lavalais had six tackles and five quarterback hurries in LSU's 27-3 win over Alabama. In that game, Lavalais and the Tiger defense held the SEC's leading rusher in Shaud Williams to only 29 yards, 85 below his season average

It is too hard to predict the LSU-Ole Miss game, because it's always so close.

However, what team was it that said LSU is better than Oklahoma??? Yes, Bama, the only team that played Oklahoma close all season.

The guy to watch on defense is our fs Jack Hunt.

Geaux Tigers!
Go to hell Ole Miss!

No doubt, this is gonna be a great game. I just think LSU will win, but will be a close game til the 4th Quarter.

We have been on a mission since the loss to Florida and have been killing people. Our strength (Defense) versus your strength (Eli and Co.).

Only in the SEC can you find the best college football.

Ya'll a killin me with all these stats !

My GUT feeling !!!......

LSU, Might be overlooking the rebs ! ....... Advantage: Rebs !
LSU, Could be lulled to sleep by blowout wins ! ... Advantage: Rebs !
OM, Very hot, Manning pretty good right now !.....Advantage: Rebs !
LSU, Best def. front since 99 Dawgs !..............Advantage: LSU !
OM, Can stop Pass OR Run, ??? Don't know about both !.... Advantage: LSU!
Playing in Oxford...... Advantage: Rebs !
CoonAzz mentality..... Advantage: The rest of the English speaking world ! :D

The Kicker....... If this is a "DAY GAME".........LSU can't win em !

Pardon me for not checkin the schedule !

Rebs win a tight one !
Rebs still need to send "THANK YOU CARDS" to #2 for Auburn !

Rebs- 21
Tigs - anywhere between 14 & 28 ! I say 17 !!!

I am not under the impression that LSU had al that good of a game against bama in fact if asked to grade their preformance i'd give the D-fence a B+ (which was enough to hold them chumps to 3 points). On the other hand the offense gets about a C. Against Florida the D put up a C- effort and the offense was horrible and flunked. that being said no one has been much trouble since and the tigers have gotten their stuff together. If they play like they should and CAN, I'm sorry to say I see Oxford being a town in the dumps come saturday night. My final prediction: LSU 48 UM 17

Either way you look at it, it should be a good game....it would be a Great game to go to since game day is there, but I cant bring myself to go to Oxford.......even though they are doing so well........I really hope LSU puts it on the rebs to quite down all the hipe at rebelville, but that is just my 2 $ worth!  8) 8) 8)

Spoken like a true MSU fan !

Being a State fan, It's hard to say "I want to see the Rebs win" !

Wait... Don't get down on me just yet !

In 96, when the Dawgs went to the final 4, Ole Miss fans would have pulled for Iran to beat us !
They despised an MSU team, being in the final 4.
If some of you Rebs out there, were actually pulling for us,... Thank you !
But,... I personally never met a single one... who did ! And thats O.K. !

I must break tradition !

I can't bring myself to root for the "evil empire" that is LSU !

Flame me for not being a "true Dawg" if you wish, just do so while kissing my a......nevermind !

I'm not planning on losing my voice, screaming "FOR" the Rebs !

Just not gonna pull for em to lose this paticular Saturday !

Hard as this is to say !,.......... GO REBS !

Pretty soon it will be basketball season,... And its right back to the, "SAME OL, SAME OL !!! You Know...GTHOM ! :)

I have not nor never will pull for the University of Eli.........

I hope LSU beats the crap out of them. Ole Miss got a lucky break like state did in '98 with the easy sec schedule. I just wish it was some way that Ole Miss' sec championship game chances came down to the egg bowl.........an msu victory would surely be sweet......and will be either way....

Ahhhhh, the wise words of GH22.... Spoken like a truly disgruntled State Fan.

I will refrain from any MSU bashing at this moment. I'll wait until it will actually ruffle some feathers.

See you at the Egg Bowl

If Eli had gone to State, ya'll State fans would think he needs the Heisman. But, because he is where he is ya'll hate him.
Ya'll say that Eli isn't any good, he just plays because of who his father is. Well, Eli probably has more passing yards this year that Fant has for his career.
I work in an Engineering firm and I haven't heard a word spoken about Ms. State all season except on the 2 occassions where they won. Then you would've though State was going to the NC game. And if all the Ms. State engineers in this office have closed their mouths State must really suck!
At one time I think State was thinking that if they finish dead last in the country then they will get the first round pick....Like they are in the NFL.
Anyway, Ole Miss beats LSU in a close one.....Ole Miss 30, LSU 28 OT
