Re: Saturday is the day
Thank all of ya'll.... The great comments motivate me even more. Today has been a rough day, lots of pain. I did manage to get my crew to Holly Springs and get them started on a erosion control project. I will post some pics of saturdays hunt. Thanks again for the comments.

Wow, I can't imagine being as motivated as you are such a short time out from the accident. You have most definitely earned my respect sir! I hope Saturday brings a wealth of mallards and a few scrap ducks for you and your crew, however I know it will be a memorable hunt none the less. If you don't keep a hunting journal, start one with this hunt for sure! You will be in my prayers, that your recovery continues to go as well as it has already.

Lodi - thanks for sharing and here's hope that you have a great hunt. As we all age and mature, we all soon realize it's not the total kill for the day, it's the hunt that we remember most.
Here's a poem that was published years ago (in Field & Stream I believe) I have memorized and I believe it says it all:
Life does not offer a more delicious moment
than sitting in a duck blind thirty minutes before sunrise
amidst a cacophony of unseen waterfowl as the
eastern sky gently snuffs out the western stars.
Here's to you!

Re: Saturday is the day
The Lord granted me the opportunity to go saturday, so I took him up on it. As we kneeled by the waters edge of the slough to have a prayer, the orange glow in the east was truely a wonderful sight. With a little mallard chatter in the air as we were giving our thanks to the Lord I realized what a blessing it was just to be there. It was a magnificent hunt. We ended up with two ducks (geenhead & green winged teal). I didn't get to hunt very long, but the hunt will never be forgotten.
Just wanted to say thanks again for the motivating comments and invitations from some. Also, would like to say thanks to my dad and two great friends for taking me. Hope everyone has a blessed season.
