Boy I hate it when that happens. Dam near had a vet in the metro kill my male for simply not taking the time to DO HIS JOB. I went for a second opinion had to do surgery right then dog stayed in vet for a month. Some of these sobs are just lazy and like the money. I was tempted to burn his house down but calmed down and figured I would bad mouth him to everyone that would listen probablly didn't help but made me feel better. The vet I have now is an avid hunter and real big into pursuing this whole heart worm thing makes for some interesting chats. Only thing is he schedules an appointment and wants you to bring the dog wait and come in exam room its really like taking a kid to the doc, very time consuming. Being on the other end of the stick I am glad to meet with him. Hate to hear it Ramsey I would pursue him having the treatment covered with new vet.

RR, you know how I feel about you, Nita and the kids. Wish I knew your ex-vet so I could call him and tell him like it is. Would make a prostitute blush from what I'd tell him. As you well know I can be pretty matter-of-fact to the point and I admire you for not going postal. The problem with some professionals today is they get a holier than thou attitude and think they are doing you a fovor for taking your money and giving you slip-shod service. You know what we went through with Clipper and Rocky as we buried them in our duck holes. It was the toughtest decision Patrick ever had to make and wasn't any easier for me and I've done it several times. I'm grateful for our Arkansas Vet as they met us out back of the clinic and put them down while in the front seats of our trucks while they held a duck that was buried with them. Good Vets know what a heart-breaking issue it is to put a beloved friend to sleep and offer all the compassion in the world. Ours even sends sympathy cards to the family. Obviously your ex-vet succums to the assembly line practice and the "Oh well, it's just a dog" mantra. I'd make sure every pet owner you know in your area knows the calousness of this guy and do you best to loose him clients. I've told people in the past that I could be their best friend or worst enemy, their choice. Looks like he made his. I'm sitting here looking at Lottaboom asleep on the floor, knowing Josie is at work with Stephen and Ace in the kennel waiting for another duck to fall. My mind keeps going back to what it will be like with any one of them gone and it's not an easy peace, believe me. Maybe a 4-legged Christmas present for Anita will help the healing.
