Duece's name was on more cars back then than it is now even with him owning the dealerships
Now, that right there is funny...don't care who you are.
Oh, the glory days when they used to say, "We may have never won a game, but we ain't never lost a party." Today's expectations, whether real or not, will not only test the team but certainly test its' fan base. Being happy with a bowl game and 7 wins(or even

was pure satisfaction. The bar has now been raised by those within and those on the outside. Whether they can stay in the top 10 or not, I don't know. I do know this, losing hurts more than winning feels good.
Ole Miss is now getting the respect it deserves, but along with that, comes a target on your back.

Snead had the flu, along with 11 other guys. He played like it, too.
Mel Kiper has him #3 on his Junior's board, and that is where a lot of the "hate on Snead for Heisman" stuff is coming from.

Alot of people are knocking the Rebels about the way they played the first three quarters. Well there is a reason you play 4 quarters in football. Ask some of the Bama fans if they want to go back and stop their game after three quarters.
I started it out saying they did better in the second half. I am saying that in no way form or fashion do they look like a top 10.

Po Monkey Lounger wrote:I'm sorry, but I must have missed the Snead for Heisman campaign ---been out of town the last week. What campaign are you guys talking about? Something organized by the Ole Miss sports marketing dept.? Or just some sports gurus discussing potential candidates? I suspect it is just the latter. And there have been well over a dozen or two or three players all over the country mentioned as a least a potential candidate. It will all depend upon their play and the success of their respective teams.
Like most Ole Miss fans that I know, we are just interested in wins --- any way we can get them. And I would bet the house that Snead is too. I am not going to analyze each game Ole Miss plays in terms of Heisman type performances. Who focking cares this early in the season? IF we have a great season and Snead gets some mention in this regard --- then great. But, it will not be a focus of mine, and I don't see Snead worried about it either ---nor anyone else in the sports media world for that matter.
The elementary school logic of these discussions seems to go something like this ---since some sports commentator mentioned Snead as a dark horse candidate for the Heisman (along with at least a couple of dozen other players), then if Snead does not deliver a "heisman-like" performance, he is chopped liver. This is absurd.
So, enough already with the Heisman bullschit ---and the rest of these nonsensical posts. The threads on this site after this first weekend of college football are the worst I have ever seen since I started participating on this site ---- mostly devoid of any real analysis or intelligence. IF this is what is going to pass for football discussion here for the rest of this season, then count me out.
I started a decent thread , I cant help it went south! Hate the the posters not the topics.

Oh, and i would like to say......Ohio State Sucks!!!!!

3 cupcake matchups that includes 2 road SEC ballgames? I guess this makes for a powderpuff match for the rebs on Nov. 28 in starkville

Is the flu going around the team?
We do (have the flu going around). I think we have about 12 to 14 guys right now. It is kind of going though our team right now. That’s one of things we are scared of. They are checking it out right now. It is a fever, which isn’t a good sign, and throwing up. Jacarious Lucas got sick and Clayton Moore got sick, and he was in the room with Jevan (Snead). It is a spreading deal, you know how that goes. Hopefully we get this thing done this week. Good timing really.
