I lost my lease in Issaquena 3 years ago for $120 acre.....We were paying 60 and the first bid out the gate was doubled! REALLY GETS MY BLOOD BOILING TO THINK ABOUT IT. My great grandfather was one of the original members that started the camp more than 30 years ago and within a blink of a eye its gone!! I hope it floods for the next 50 years!!

Interesting thread, bordering on class warfare, and touching on a sad truth: that long before the anti hunters or non-sustainable levels of wild resources extirpate the tradition of hunting, the lack of access (or the lack of the financial means to access pursuant to supply and demand) will. I've long believed that.

BR549 brings up a couple points I've been thinking about all day: its not so much what you'd pay to hunt where 3 generations of your family has hunted for 55 years, but what WOULDN'T you pay? Helll, I already pay more than I probably should, but its what we do; it defines the lives of myself and family. Its priceless. As lomng as we're all still living in the Land of Opportunity, its hard to fauly a man that made more of it than did I or, as is often the case, is willing to commit more of his financial resources towards what he really loves.

It is probably the closest thing you can get to fighting bayou and other big duck clubs. The price is high but not the highest in Issaquena county. Magna Vista has a school section that is 2200 acres on the MS river (not sure how it became 2200 instead of 640) that they pay 50.00 dollars an acre for

You my dumb friend have just made the price go up!! With this post I can promise you its on every duck hunters radar!!

It kills me the people who post up pics from hunts on leases or public ground they hunt for everyone to see and potentialy outbid or apply more pressure too ground THEY DO NOT CONTROL. If I had a jam up lease there is no way I would offer any more insite to someone other than a VERY close friend about the in's and out's of my spot. Anyone will f some one over to get a better hunting spot. Their are two things you better keep close to your vest if its important to you. Thats great hunitng ground and good pu$$Y. Even good friends will do what ever they can to take both of those from you.

Also doesnt help much that MS Outdoors printed an articled with "Dilbert" Hoseman informing every Tom Dick and Harry about leasing 16th section land...my guess is in an attempt to help drive up lease prices for monetary gain for the school districts.

There is a lease still available in Pike County Il right now, that is $13,000 for 1100 ac. Last year their were two B&C bucks taken on video here and several over 150 killed with bow. There are more turkeys on this place than 50 people can kill. That aint even $12 an acre, and land around Vicksburg is going for 50 and acre. WTF????? I guess I missed out on the joke.

I find that hard to believe.
