Funny thing about that homerun.........Burke did it with a cracked bat. I was in the left field corner when he hit it, and I swear to god that ball didn't get over 15-20 ft high on its way out.

I was behind home plate hanging on to the rail on the second set of stairs going to the second level... that was me and my partners rally spot, and that's as far as pops would let me get away from our seats. Caps inside out and on backwards. Our seats are right next to the late Jerry Clower's... it was a hoot listening to him at the ball games back in the day

It's interesting to hear everyone talk about "where they were" when Burke Masters hit the home run, most State fans remember EXACTLY what they were doing at that moment, whether they were at the game or listening on the Radio.

j/k on the hawken candy. got friend that is a dr. that loves it & thinks he really getting a good dose of nicotine with it. he used to get us to get him rolls of it from a buddy that worked for a tobacco company. he'd probably pass out if he tried kodiak (that used to be my summer dip, something about cope would make me sick in the heat on the farm -playing baseball in the heat, it didn't bother me. must've been the dust mixed with it cause i didn't get the cab tractors as i was the owner's son - no way did i get shown favoritism, if anything it was the opposite!!)

we have enough jinxing us right now, though I believe we should get there before State does again, I am not confident enough with our luck vs Mstate luck at all...All of this will depend on success and recruiting. We have seen no success from Cohen yet, and he cleaned house to be able to recruit. My sister in law's boyfreind, who attends state and should be playing there as he could have helped them in the bull pen, told me that most of the player's didn't like playing for Cohen. Not that he is not a good coach, but that he is definitely not a player's coach..I can understand this as he did express his frustration with his personnel throughout the season and he may be different towards a winning team. This does affect recruiting unless success far outweighs it..

Bianco has shown success, though hasn't made it to the pinnacle of college baseball. Bianco is a player's coach, maybe too much at times. He has proven that he recruits well, but just seems to lack some gameday experience as a head coach. A good assistant to come in would help tremendously. I don't believe he is the bonehead that some make him out to be, as I do still believe he is one of the top coaches in the country, as well as in the SEC. He keeps reloading talent and 4 Super Regionals in the past 5 years is impressive to everyone else, except State fans.

So, with the present situation, Ole Miss should get there before State does.
