Man if i were really trying to impress i would call the aluvian, get a nice room, drive to does (limo), eat a steak, and go back to the alluvian. They prolly are running some valentines special at there spa that the ole lady might appreciate.

As for me, im going to a wedding party sat night way out in the sticks. Dont know why they scheduled it for sat night, but no $$$ date anyhow.

Parker House is fine but you aint gettin in any time this week.

Dukes is what it is............and for the price its a damn good steak

Cpaws needs to stick to what they know.....which aint much....the barbecue is ok at best and the service is better at a damn car wash...........

Tico's is hard to beat. Great steak, atmosphere's good - not too cramped.
But if you really want go 1st class - you gotta go to Ruth's Chris.
BTW, if your not dead set on steak - Bonefish has a pretty good mahi mahi. (and if you go to Bonefish you gotta have the Bang Bang Shrimp - they're bad booty.

I'm going to go with Shapley's on this one. Maybe it is because I am with my in-laws most of the time I eat there (they tip well and know the owner), but the service has been good. I find the food great there 99% of the time. **I do agree that it is too dark in there**

Tico's has a good steak, but I thought Ruth Chris's steak were better and RC's service was outstanding. RC probably costs more, but they treated me like I had money.

Went to Ely's once (related to Shapley's folks) and was not real impressed. It was when it first opened and my wife's steak was still mooing.

I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned, but the best steak in Jackson is at Crechales. And to add to it, you get a romantic 50ish atmosphere with Patsy Cline singing for you. Don't get much better...

10-15 yrs ago. I would agree 100%. Last time I went in there I thought I was eating dog crap! The steak was worse than my moms on the stove! :D But man, I used to love them.

+1 on the bang bang.. good stuff, Old Venice has a good imitation bang bang that i like. Last couple of Sundays that the wife and I have eaten in Bonefish, it was dark (reggins) everywhere.
