It sounds like you had your ratio backwards. You really needed 4 dozen robos and 4 regular decoys.

I'm going to give you a seriuos answer because I am not that funny.
When hunting in a rice field you should normally use a good bit of decoys. We normally put out about 15 doz. In small family groups and space for them to land in the pond. Put your mojos facing into the wind, landing with a small group of decoys. Make sure you are hid very well.
And as mudsucker said, make sure you are holding your mouth right. :D

Lots of dekes definitely helps, but if you use 15 dozen and the ducks land on the outside of your decoys (which seems to always be my luck) then you're not going to be close enough to get a shot. That has been my experience. Very rarely do they want to land in a small, suspicious looking open water area in the middle of your spread.

We have 15 dozen split up on two sides. Which still leaves plenty of room for them to land inside the spread.

At my place we hunt nothing but mallards. Limits every time. Day or night. Listen closely, Here is the secrete. Just before we throw out the decoys, we lay the bag down on the ground and everyone in the hunt for that day has to pi$$ on the decoys while still in the bag. This group effort will ensure the decoys are all l coated with that super attractant and the ducks can't resist. Trust me, it works.

I bought a bottle of duck in heat and put one drop on each decoys head.
it solved the whole problem
