I'll take him over these small conference up and comers/coordinators.

Its a hire that would energize the program and sure would be an upgrade from that HC impersonator we've had the last 5 years.

Winton Churchhill say, "Its a good hire."

As bad as you talk about AU, I guess I never can remember much being said about TT. You hate him? We would still suck, huh? As bad as under Croom? Whatcha think?

It is amazing I have not seen the same statements about MSU as were said about UM after the fire.

I mean UM fired Cutcliffe after a 9 win season and then followed it up with 3 wins
Croom had an 8 win season with COTY followed it up by 4 wins

Everybody has always said UM was stupid for firing Cutcliffe. What about State for firing Croom?

21-58 was Croom's record. He had five years to get the team consistently competitive and he failed. I knew he'd failed after the La Tech game. We layed an egg against a cup cake after a bowl win.

Croom and Cut were similiar in the fact that both refused to make changes on their staff.

Absolutely not a joke.

I feel both should have been fired. Just asking a question

I believe there's no one crying foul on Croom's exit vs. Cutcliff's because Croom had one successful season and then went right back down.

Cut was taking OM to bowls consistently and the OM fans got tired of 6 7 and 8 win seasons. That's why the Cut firing gets so much ridicule.

I heard Tubberville is headed to Starkville, with Mark Hudspeth of UNA as offensive coordinator. :?:

I thought that Auburn had a clause in his contract where he could not go to other SEC West schools. If that is the case then he will not be at State. Also I can not beleive Auburn forced him out. Auburn was not much of anything when he got there and he has done a good job getting them to compete for the west year in year out. He had them undefeated one year and should have played for the NC. He also won 6 straight against their rival. Auburn can not do any better than him. I really think there was more going on then just wins and losses. I had heard that Tubberville wanted out of there, that he was not happy there anymore, and that is very easy to believe, he just not seem himself this year. Well I think it is bad timing for Auburn. They are coming off of a bad season and who is going to want to come in and try to recruit against Saban right now. I think it is going to be a hard road for the tigers ahead.

Everyone gave Alabama hell for firing Shula, so is auburn going to catch the same kind of heat. I was wondering about that myself.

MSHUNTER - I think you are right and Auburn is on the way down after this. Since Auburn forced him out, the no compete clause goes out the window. He is saying he is staying in Auburn but once he collects his first $3 million of his buyout he will be announced as State's head coach. That could come as early as Monday.
