Thanks for the legal advice. Yes, I registered the court documents in Warren County right after I received the judgement. By that time, BB was a refugee in Louisiana. I was told that he could not sell any property without satisfying all leans. My guess is that I was far down the list in the number and priority of leans against BB. In any event, I spent almost $2K in legal fees to collect zip. So, I'm not real intersted in throwing more money down the drain to collect from a guy who the legal system continues to not hold accountable for his actions. This guy has more than 9 lives.

byron has tried to ripp me off as well as a couple others guys i know i am sure i can give you his phone number as well as his partner in crime being that they run a classified ad in the clarion ledger on a weekly basis trying to sucker more people into their scam.

The bad thing about going after this guy with a civil judgment is that if someone ever gets close to his assets, he'll file bankruptcy. Then it'll take more money to fight that in Bankruptcy Court and he can roll around in there for years.

The best way to stop this guy is by filing criminal charges and then hope that restitution is ordered by the court.

Big Buck, Last summer several guys jumped him in Louisiana for this same kind of s***, and put him in the hospital there for a while. After that, he was in jail for a short time in La, but since then, haven't heard much about his whereabouts.

I also forgot to think of two other ideas that might work pretty good:
1. call the consumer fraud division of the atty generals office. The number for one of the investigators used to be 601-359-4236. They will likely send you a complaint form. I suggest a bunch of screwed over people do that and try talking to them. If they get interested, they may be able to help.
2. maybe someone should complain to the clarion ledger about running ads for a con man.

Duckmancometh, I see this is your 1st time on msducks, or at least under this handle. Welcome. Do you have any personal dealings or stories you would like to share concerning MRS. Barrett? I'm sure you've read the "book" that has been written about him already. Having those current Ph. #'s and all, surely you can enlighten all of us on one or more your encounters.....

I know this is an old subject but Barrett is still at his old games. I've read thru this board for awhile with only a few occasional posts but i thought since just about everybody else on here had a barrett story i thought i'd share mine. Me and my buddies are looking for a lease and we saw one in the CL. I told the my friend who is kinda getting it together about the add in the paper and he called the number. We never got an answer but finnally he did get a hold of the guy and w/o my knowledge my buds went and met this guy around delta city last sunday. i must back track a little, i told my friends before we ever started looking for a lease to stay away from the dreaded barrett b/c of what i read here on MSDUCKS. anyway they go and meet him up there and show them this jam-up duck hole. when they get to the last hole he pulls out a lease and says that he wants all my buddies to sign it and that he needs some earnest money. being the smart fellows they are they think back to my warning and don't sign the thing<thanks God>. Barrett messes up and tells my friends the landowners name. I called information and got his number and the landowner tells us that barret is indeed authorized to lease for him but that he wished after hearing all bout him that he would have never aggreed to let barrett lease out his land for him. On top of this Barrett is the only person that can lease the land out, not even the land owner can lease the land out!! We told him to call us if his lawyer get him out of the deal with Barrett. Anyway my friends lucked out and did not get rooked. Just gonna let ya'll know he's still around...Watch Out!!
