I don't use a bag with them. I put a about a dozen on a clip and tie 2 loose over hands knots in the line- one close to the decoy and one close to the loop end. Then just throw them over your shoulder.

Guys, I did this about 3 years ago...best thing I've ever done. I used weedeater line on mine, triangle shaped so it won't have memory. I hold all the ends together with a big clip, then tie a knot right down next to the decoys. I use the stand up decoy bags by drake so that one person can bag them without having a fist fight with the bag. I made my own weights though. I took old lead weights and melted them down, then poured them into a spoon. When they dry, drill a hole in the narrow portion at the top and crimp it too. Absolutely tangle free. You can pick them up and move in a matter of minutes. The first time my buddy used them, he said he would never wrap a decoy string again.

Had some rigged last yr but the line was too light and then used tangle free line was ok but still not the best was fixin to order some 300# mono then i saw the rigging and bags from Docshuntnstuff at the wings festival (got a great deal on them).Real nice set up.U guys that did it urself one thing i would suggest is putting a heavy snap swivel so u can change out dekes for what ever reason without having to cut the line.....The bags that they have at Docshuntnstuff.com are great and they sell them seperate. A bag will keep ur dekes from banging around and loosing paint etc.....Another thing bout the mono over the weed eater line it that the mono does not show in the field....the weedeater line is great just make sure it is not showing JMO......Good job DIB you never go back to winding field riggs again

Sometimes Wally World will put those crimps on sale at the end of the season.I think Knutsons Decoys has a box of them that you can get that has 250 or something like that in it. I use a plastic coated lightweight cable on my Texas Rigged,it works well. Most people that I know that do it use #300 mono, clear.whatever works,as long as it doesnt tangle up or flare birds should be great. Oh,and I don't bag mine, except to store them.

the dochuntnstuff, is pretty nice. what is your cost of diy? they sell the 4' kit for 45, and thats with a decoy bag...I will definitely be going to this set up...no more freezing fingers and wrapping cords...

Trimmer string works great. The only prob is you should have used black IMO. I didnt at first either but the color line shows really bad in clean water....
