I would say in my experience thought anything with feathers and that quacks is pretty rare.

You know, believe it or not, this year our mallards actually seemed to out number the mergs. That was definately not the case year before last. Did see about a bijillion buffleheads tho.

Killed a drake redhead in the green timber in Delta National....when Delta National had ducks.

We shot a cinnamon teal 6-7 years ago, but other than that, nothing rare at all. And we shot that one to pieces....cripple.. :cry:

Killed a White Winged Scoter Hen on Black Lake near Natchitoches Louisiana when I was in college in the early 80's. Still have a picture of it. It came to the dekes solo. Took 8 shots of #4 lead (legal at that time) to kill it. Feathers were very thick. Should have mounted it.
