sadie1 wrote:I get on here every day because I am a duck enthusiast and enjoy seeing the latest word on the ducks. I will have to say that I wish people on here didn't just rape someone when they ask a question. Most of the replies that are sarcastic are from the large population of guys on here that are between 18-24 yrs old. I guess when I was that age, I had a little more piss and vinegar in my veins as well. I guess what you learn when you get older, ( of course, some never learn) is that we all have questions about things, and who better to ask that a friendly fellow duck hunter. I say "fellow" duck hunter because, unless you haven't noticed... the number of hunters is dwindling. I know, I know... more ducks for me!! But that ain't the way it works. What you should be trying to enjoy is the friendships you can make on sites like this. 6 ducks aint much shooting if you are a decent shot, and there will be days where you don't shoot at all, so you better enjoy more than just KILLING ducks. I took a youth last year and had more fun watching the ducks and the young hunter than any hunt that I took all year.
If it does make you feel tough to brow beat a guy for asking a question, I guess go ahead, I will continue to wade through the poop. If you are a "newbie" or a "topwater" you can call me and I will be glad to take you duck hunting on my lease. You can ask all the stupid questions that you want, it makes for more interesting conversation than listening to a know it all. My dad didn't duck hunt when I was growing up, and there were days when it would have made my year for someone to take me.

I would say we all totally agree with you. We would all be glad to take a newbie or Topwater hunting, but just don't get on here and ask about where to go public hunting. Do like YOU said yourself, call me and talk to me about it and I"LL take you. Just keep it off here. You have a question about equipment, or calling or whatever, even if it's a dumb question, if there is a dumb question, you will get good answers and you won't get ripped, there may be some people on here make stupid comments, but the majority will give good answers

By the way, what makes you think that 90% of the people on here that post alot are 24 and under, I know a TON of guys on here as well as myself are 36,37,40, 45, and around there. Don't fool yourself just because it's a computer and chat type forum. We old folks still know a little about computers!!!!

That's just it warren, simply don't tell. If someone legitimately finds your spot cause they went to said WMA and scouted like you did, then got on this site and told everyone they found a ton of ducks at said WMA in the back right corner next to the big dead oak tree. Within a few days or weeks, your spot won't be yours anymore, you'll show up like you normally do and there will already be 4 or 5 trucks sitting there hunting that spot. 3 or 4 of them did NOTHING to find that spot but read. We have nothing against the people that WORK to find the spots but we HATE the people who get on here and read just try and find a duck hole!!!!

If you are referring to the age issue, I would have to guess you are in your low 30's or high 20's. Almost 8000 post on here would lead me to believe you spend a lot of time on the computer. You probably spend your work time alone for a good portion of your day, which leads you to wish for contact with others, since you spend the day alone with your thoughts. You probably do not have any kids, because if you did you would not be able to spend so much time on said computer. If you are from N.O, you are probably 5'9, 165 pds with dark hair and eyes, with a bit of a dark complexion,a five o'clock shadow, an accent, and are pretty tough. Your name would indicate that you either work on some kind of dredge boat or have an affinity with things that produce mud and like the idea of drawing the mud out with your mouth thru a straw. That is not a real guess, I just thought it was funny. You probably think lsu could beat most anyone, anywhere, or anytime, and are still waiting on the saints to put together a good run for at least two consecutive years. Even though you are in Ms now, if you are from N.O., you still call gadwalls grey ducks no matter how many people say something about it. And you love crayfish, not crawfish, and drink straight budweiser, not bud light.

Read with perfect Hannibal Lecter diction, as portrayed by Sir Anthony Hopkins, that's especially funny
