I do know that ten points claim to being the oldest deer camp in the delta is true. There are many camps that are still going that where there before ten point was.

Greasy Bayou, Parker Gary, and two others I believe. It is OLD SCHOOL. There are some wealthy fellows out there, but nonetheless, it has maintained an old school feel. I have been out there and it is great. They have dozens and dozens of pics on the walls that date back to the 50s probably.
I know that there are members of other delta high dollar camps that also have memberships at these camps to get away from the modern, high dollar, plasma screen, spa treatment camps currently in existence. Not that there is anything wrong with the newer, modern camps...if I had an extra 300 to 500K laying around I would probably be in one of those camps. However, there is something nice about the old way of doing things.

Agreed. The new stuff is nice but there's something about an old rickety camphouse w/ a wood-burning stove that makes it feel more like the old days before people had DirecTV at the deer camp. A technicolor tv w/ rabbit ears covered in aluminum foil, plank floor, one room only.........
First camp my granddad ever joined and took me to was like that. Those were the good days. Sorry about the tangent, just recollecting.

Greasy, Parker, Luckett, Thornton and Mabry. Mabry is on the other side of the canal. It is still part of Delta Wildlife though.
When you say old school you are right. The camp I stay at just got a tv about two years ago.

The deer were not killed in front of dogs but behind horses ,
true the camp does and will always have old school feel.
The four camps on Delta Wildlife , Greasy,Parker,Thortan and Lucket are family camps and will remain .
The hunting is ok the atmosphere is excelent .
Thanks for showing so much intrest .

I think it's a Canada. Looks like snow in the top right corner. But I could very well be wrong

When did 10 point start? Merigold Hunting Club has been around for about 80 years.

In the book about Ten Point HC, they refer to Merigold as having been formed before Ten Pt.

I would love to just get to go to the camp areas. I love the "old school feel". That is something that is disappearing.
If someone has pics of these clubs. Post them. I would love to see them.
We used to have this old red shack we to went in vaiden. There is a nice cabin there now, but I miss that old shack.
I would forego some of the hunting for the atmosphere
