I have dropped two shot guns in the freezing water before. just not on the same day. I have had a snow goose come alive in the back of my truck, it had a camper shell on it so it was heck watching the goose try to get out.
But the stupidest thing I have ever done happened one morning about 20 minutes before shooting time. Me and my neighbor had gone to Coldwater bottoms and launched the boat. It was so cold that it took forever to start the motor causing us to be late. The ice was about 1"- 1 1/2" thick but once the boat got some momentum behind it it was breaking it fairly easy. after about 10 mintues of breaking ice we got to thiner ice and was able to speed up, about that time I ran over a stump that was just under the surface of the ice. It pushed the boat straight up to were the water was coming over the transome then it rolled over to the right side, instantly throwing me out. Luckly the boat rolled up right and my neighbor was somehow ended up in the bottom of the boat with about 4" of water. I was hangin on the the side with about the same 4" of water in my waders and could not get into the boat. The shock of the ice water was so bad that it took my breath and I was helpless. the waders had enought water in them that they did not float and I could not lift the weight to get into the boat. Had it not been for my neighbor pulling me back in I would not be here to type this. After I got back into the boat we turned around and headed back but we had to stop and pick up my life jacket thatI had been sitting on.
To this day I do not get into a boat to go duck hunting with out my life jacket on. I get alot of funny looks, but it is the least I can do.

Miller,
Be afraid...be very afraid!
The reason I said Money is because he took me on my first real duck hunt and got me hooked on this sport that has been a curse on my normal life. Without duck hunting I might be a productive member of society instead of spending all of my available resources on duck hunting.
Of course it was Money that was gracious enough to let me shoot my first greenhead that turned out to be banded.
Other than that....he's a butthead!!!

Funniest Moment
was when My current hunting buddy was moving willows out of the boats path so we could go get a duck...He was kneeling on the bow and pushing the trees to the side until a floating log got between the lower unit the boat and a tree on each side. I've never seen a look of UT OH on his face like that day when he came up and tried to get back in the boat it was 23 that day...
A columbia 4 in 1 when properly zipped and buttoned does keep water out. His only problem was it dont keep water out when your 8 feet under.

NOW tell me how stupid this is:
me and a couple of buddies went to Mahannah bout 3 years ago.....pretty peaceful that morning, not a lot of hunters....in fact, there were no other hunters....got to our spot, ducks decoying (which is unusual at Mahannah)....and then as we watched a game warden drive by the main road, stop and look out our way, then went to the top of the levee and sat, we realized it was Dec 24....and duck season was closed the 24-26 that year....3 tickets for stupidity....it is still a story that comes up at the camp fire every year....thank god for relatives though, we got out of the tickets, but have never made that mistake again...

wingman I am waiting on your story. It was a naked 4-wheeler ride from the duck hole all the way to your house while some of my clients still sitting in the duck hole. I will let you tell the rest.

I'm sure all can relate to this...
10 pm night before duck hunt - Three trucks role up at the exact same time for the best public hole around....
Hilarity ensues!
Ten guys, three dogs, and 300 decoys all trying to race 1 mile through the forest, 9 hrs before shooting light, in the freezing rain might I add, to sit in the mud...
Thanks to a couple wide receivers we had with us, we won...
Ended up with the wrong dog for a while that night though, took us a while to notice!

Well one day last season I go hunt a watershed lake back home with 2 buddies(both are very very big boys). We were going out across the lake in a 14ft jon boat with me (the smallest) in the back driving and Joey(the biggest) ditting on the very front, when we got to where we thought we wanted to set up, I slowed down and when I did the front of the boat went under thanks to his Big Ass and all that was left above water was half of my brand new 15hp Yamaha. Luckily all guns were in floating cases and all blind bags floated so all we lost was a shell belt that I had forgoten to put on. It was scary then but looking back now its pretty funny, I guess I am just lucky I could stand up where it happend

Was just gettin' daylight on opening morning and all was set. I was excited and happy to be there. I was loading my gun by the boat and about to wade out to the hole. I looked down and spotted my Mountain Dew laying in the bottom of the boat. Grabbed it and took a big ole swig ....of my nephews two week old Skoal slobber! Had to wash my mouth out with swamp water...it was baaadddddd!
