wonder what the ticket for lead would be?

I may start shooting lead. (just kiddin)

case of steel shot $200

case of lead shot $100

saving $100 per case. may be worth a few tickets.
especially since it works a lot better.

anyway, i bought 2 boxes of hevishot for tomorrow morn.
10 shots per box....$22.50per box inc. tax= $2.25 every time i pull the trigger. interesting to see how this stuff works.

I got a ticket in tha freestate Sat. morning for "Transporting an uncased/unbroken firearm." A federal warden got me. I put the gun behind my seat (under a massive pile of crap) so the hollow butt could drip all the water out on the way home. Welp, he saw that and started the ticket writing process. I guess a rule is a rule.  Lesson learned.

Once upon a time in a well known NWR, there was a group of guys the wardens knew were outlaws, but they were very good at it and rarely made a mistake. I should mention that this group was made up of a couple lawyers and a couple other high power busnessmen who only hunted public land so they could rest their leases and land they owned. Needless ta say, there was no love lost, and the wardens were after these guys in a big way.

One day they had killed limits, and were walkin out. As they got to their Argo, their dawg saw a wounded hen mallard, and chased it down and brought it back to the guys. This put them one over, and it just so happened that one of the feds was waitin fer em and wrote thiose boys a ticket. Many words were exchanged, but they eventually had ta pay up. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Are you supposed to have your gun cased at all times in the vehicle? I see deer rifles in truck gun racks all the time back home in Lee County and pretty much everywhere that's rural area. If so I've been unlawful for a long time.

Similar situtaion of this happened a few years back in alabama and the warden gave a citation to the hunter and was later overturned in court by the jusdge. it was something along the lines of being in his truck rather than on his person. Good Luck!

What is wrong with carrying a gun in the back of your truck; esp if it is unloaded? Sounds like the wardens are up to a bunch of bullsheet. Esp GH bit with the lead in his truck. I think he can ticket you if you don't have you license on your person. In the truck don't count.... but what do i know.

I suppose the lack of "official replys" could be because they have not seen the post but I suspect that warden was outta line in that ticket....Be a bit un-professional to say a fellow warden is full of you know what.....Damn skippy I would go too court over it!

Well, I can't figure out exactly where our topic starter was parked. Isn't the usual wording "possession" of lead shot prohibited on the WMA. That includes the parking lot. Was he even on a WMA?

And then you mouthed off? OOOPS!

I saw an episode of Mississippi Outdoors about ten years ago of vehicle searchs while folks exited a WMA. They found whiskey under the seats, pistols tucked everywhere, lead shot, rifle shells during muzzleloader, maryjuwanna, and everything but the kitchen sink. Most guys just had a big SUV full of all their crap but technically shouldn't be on a WMA with centerfire bullets and old warm beer.

Transporting a weapon on all Federal Refuges requires a gun to be unloaded and cased. It's been that way for a long time. (That includes transporting in a boat as well).

You got to read the rulebook twice and then clean out the truck.

It's rather awkward (inapproproate) for our LEO members to respond to another citation while it's an ongoing "case", so make up you minds without 'em.

Just one reason so many folks don't get involved in hunting anymore

Why teach your kids...buy licenses...support DU/DW...etc then have to put up with OVERBEARING "referees". :(
