What a bunch of class envy bs this board has become: "All of us can't afford good leases." Blah, Blah, Blah. Yes, you could, you just don't chose to do so. A jam up duck lease costs a lot less than monthly bass boat payments, etc. All you are telling me is something about your priorities when it comes to duck hunting. I have just scraping by hourly wage guys in my leases all the time. I think the world of them, consider them my brothers and peers. Why? Because they kill the hell out of ducks, because that is what is important to them, and how they chose to spend thier money. That "I can't afford it stuff" is pure BS. It really means "I won't afford it." Nice excuse, though.
And further why I have no respect for the "You don't know chit, you buy your ducks" attitude on this board: Why, since I also hunt the public marshes in Jackson County and Harrison County a couple mornings every week, am I still killing ducks? That damn sure ain't high dollar leases. You get out of it what you put into it. There have been PLENTY of ducks the last 5 years. If you ain't killing them, look in the mirror and ask yourself "Why?" There have been plenty of ducks, thanks to DU and thanks to a smaller degree, to Delta.

Those "just scraping by hourly wages" guys in your lease may not have a family, and if they do..then maybe they need to re-evaulate just WHAT really is important in life..to sit and here and say that they really CAN'T afford to be in the lease but CHOOSE to is ignorant on their part!
Guess you've NEVER served in the Armed Forces...bcuz you'd KNOW what little pay we get!
Keppin' up with the Jones' isn't worth it to me to be in good graces with some folks, that is if that is how we gain respect..

I may go to Heaven, or I may go to hell....But one thing is for certain..It'll be after Duck season!!
Its not the ONLY way to gain respect. I respect the guys who get it done on public land and don't kvetch and moan its all DU's fault when they have a bad day, too. My father raised me and my family on his career Army pay, so I know the drill quite well.

I agree w/ ya on it's not DU's fault we typically have a sucky season here in E Central MS...But when I go to OK for a full week and shoot more Pheasant and Quail, than I did ducks here including the early Teal season..that sux!
I'm not sayin' we starve on military pay..but often times it isn't enough to spend $4K-$5K on a duck lease....
