Mergansers don't count against your limit but you can only kill one hooded. Last time I went the caretaker said before the drawing that there is only hooded mergansers there, so it couldn't have been just mergansers I'll find out tomorrow.

'Wingman' and Bret Worley need to get together then......and decide whether a merganzer is a duck or not......because prior to the drawing on Saturday, we were told that a merganzer is a duck and that it counts toward your daily bag.

It doesn't really matter one way or the other to me, anyway.....I don't shoot the damn things.

Dt we didn't do to well today i got a permit for Sat. and cant decide if I want to go or not. Johnny Wayne (the head caretaker of the duck check)said that at Noxubee a merganser does count as a duck in your six duck limit at Noxubee

There were a few ducks killed today..I was on stand #19, we killed 8, lost 2 and should have had our limit if we could hit what we shot at...

One stand killed 17 one woody shy of the limit...

I got drew next wednesday i hope they still flyin like that next week. An duck killer is right at noxubee a hooded merganser counts against your 6 duck limit, and thats all that is up there is hooded. And you will most likely get checked at the parkin lot when you come out. That place aint got much room for error.

Bustin, I heard about them fellas. 15 coots, one merganser and one woody. Thats Noxubee at its finest.

Not sure why folks even go there. I suppose its because of the good excercise you can get walking a mile or so in waders.

Yeah or wading in frozen water..while your waders fill up to your belt..ugghhh :wink:

I didn't know that H Merg's had Chestnut breasts, and a white ring 'round its neck...shoulda known with that greenhead it was a Merg.... :shock:

If you shoot only the Merg's w/ greenheads the GW will let ya take 4 a piece... :wink:
