Po Monkey Lounger wrote:And yes, my observations of fan behavior over many, many years of watching SEC football have led me to the conclusion that football fans from the state of Alabama are, in general, very sensitive and uptight. If other fans do not behave in a fashion that they deem appropriate, they have a tendency to be very critical.
That mountain out of a molehill made about Ole Miss fans cheering during the Auburn alma mater a few years ago was a prime example. The accidental UM student cheer with the Bama player still down and the big deal being made of it by the person who started this thread (and the Tide fans at the game) are yet another prime example. And if you are still not convinced, just go to any Bama or Auburn message board after a game with Ole Miss, MSU, or any other school, and a large portion of the threads are negative criticism of the behavior of the other school's fans, their school, their stadium, etc. IT is as if they go to a game and start making a checklist to bitch about afterward.

I don't know where you come up with this stuff. I guess its a lifetime build up of an inferiority complex.
I'm not bitching. Alabama won (again). Ole Miss lost (again). All is well in my world.
Please continue making broad generalizations if you would like, but If I were you, I'd be more concerned with things besides whats said on AL and AU message boards.
Seems rather silly and insecure IMHO...but then again, you are an Ole Miss fan.
BTW, if you're gonna play grammar police, make sure you point out that the title of this thread is spelled wrong as well.

Then when you are done with the grammar police, call the irony police:

I'm positive the Alabama fanbase is the ONLY fanbase to bitch about another school, stadium, fans

Hey, I just call em as I see them. I did not start this thread, a Tide fan did. Just responding to it with some very general observations over the years.
Football is a tough, violent sport. And SEC football fans are very passionate about their football. Big matchups in the SEC are not for the faint at heart or the ultra sensitive types. Perhaps they need to stay at home and watch from the safe confines of their living rooms.

And I call them as I see them....
I don't bitch about Ole Misses fans, stadium, or school. I quietly smirk to myself and thank god I didnt go to school there.
I've seen better stadiums on the high school level. Your PA announcer is awful. Your coach is a meathead. The traffic in that one horse town is horrible. The cops are awful.
But I'm not bitching...just pointing out the obvious. Bitching is whining about the opposing teams fans doing a stupid cheer when a player is apparently hurt.
Cheer all you want....there sure isnt anything else to cheer about.
I'd normally keep those comments to myself, but since your going to make broad generalizations about a fanbase, I'll play that game as well. I was more than willing to make numerous compliments (the Grove, women, etc) but your inferiority complex has prevented me from doing so.

yes the eyecandy in oxford is very nice, i was not trying to be a jerk by starting this as i said in my first post ole miss fans have always been very respectful, other than the usual couple that you get at any school, the only fans overall that annoy me are LSU fans, they are idiots, i will never forget i went to an ole miss lsu game several years ago and a stupid LSU fan decided he wanted to walk up into the student section and cheer once it lsu had the game won, well that fan got one of those whiskey bottles that someone talked about earlier

Webbmaster, no need to get all mad about it.
I don't care if the Tide fans don't like Oxford or our campus or our stadium, etc. It would suit me fine if they just stayed at home. Quite obviously, so many are so fragile and easily offended, that perhaps they should.

It's a shame that so many Bama fans are so dangerously thin-skinned in a world of sharp objects.
The game was good. The atmosphere was great. The only real injury was to a UM player. WTF else could you want?

ps....Bama ain't the only ones...

You guys are right.....as a Bama fan, I'm so easily offended by Ole Miss fans. They hurt my feelings.
I'll just try to grow some tougher skin and stay out of Oxford.
