I shoot an 870 and my buddy shoots a Mossberg 835. Both have been dependable and reliable for the past 9 seasons. Both good guns for the money,if you like pump guns and are budget minded. Just an opinion...

I am curently looking my self and have done a lot of reaserch. I have been told by gunsmiths that the barrel rings in the benneli have experienced numerous failures and benneli is not wanting to stand behind tem. The Browning gold and the Winchester both have a recoil pin that will snap at the first sign of pressure causing the stock to fall off the gun.

If you are looking for an automatic the best recomendation I have gotten is a berretta but not the one from Wal-Mart, parts for this shot gun are non existant.. Hince my search for a new shot gun. (bent barrell)

If you are looking for a pump the 870 is the best hands down. However he 835 in some circles would be on top. Reality is they both are pretty much the ideal duck gun for a hunter who demands alot from his gun.

Good luck
