Haters gonna hate. Hehe And he will sign in December as he graduates high school early. One reason I am excited about him is the way he handles himself. Wanted to commit early to help recruit and didn't need to go thru all the BS most high profile recruits are doing. Now that also doesn't prove he will be good but I sure am glad he is on our side today!!!

Patterson is gonna play play play
Haters are gonna hate hate hate
And the Rebels gonna shake it off.

The ONLY way I see Patterson going elsewhere is if another school offers his brother a position coach job between now and December. There is a pattern here. Brother is on Arizona staff...Shea commits to Arizona. Brother is on LSU staff...Shea interested in LSU. Brother is on Ole Miss staff (though officially unofficial at the moment)...Shea commits to Ole Miss. If Auburn or Bama offer his brother a WR Coach position or something along those lines, I could see him going elsewhere.

His brother is a genius though. He has leveraged his brother's recruitment into experience under Rich Rod, Cam Cameron and now Hugh Freeze. Pretty freaking good.

Come on Deltamud, you can't be using facts and common sense when dealing with Ole Miss fans. This guy obviously wanted to go to Ole Miss from the start and only showed interest in those other schools because of his brother. His brother actually took the job at Ole Miss because he wanted to play there so badly. Face it this just a way of paying a player. This guy got the job at LSU and Ole Miss so they could get his brother to come play. If you deny that then you are either delusional or an idiot.

It is a way of paying a player, no doubt, but LSU tried it too...I would be a hypocrite not to acknowledge that fact. Hiring fathers, brothers, high school coaches and the like is old school cheating. It allows "good guys" like Hugh and Les to say with a straight face that they would never cheat.

I think in 10-15 years we will look back at this period and see that this is the exact time period when college football lost what purity still remained as a de facto amateur sport. The NCAA is powerless and fears the Big 5 packing up and leaving if they push too hard. Therefore, they turn a blind out to large scale cheating - particularly in the SEC. This IMO started with the Camgate fiasco and has snow balled since that period of time.

I will tell you unequivocally they are cheating - they are all cheating - particularly the ones that are recruiting so well. This certainly includes Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss. Spare me the lines of defense for your particular schools because if you really believe that Nick, Hugh or Les is not actively engaged in AND turning a blind eye to cheating to get recruits, then I have some high mountain elk land to sell you in Bolivar County.

I think we will see the Big 5 leave the NCAA inside of 7 years and form what will amount to a semi-professional league for the Big 3 sports and that will also compensate other sports to avoid Title IX issues as well. I could see revenue sharing agreements being a part of this plan, "salary caps" and the like.

I'll also acknowledge the situation and refer to my previous statement...they are all doing it and if you think Ole Miss is the only place that offered Sean Patterson a job in order to get Shea, then I also have some adjacent beach property to your high mountain property...so my only point was, Ole Miss and Hugh Freeze weren't the only program playing that game, so something won it for them other than the obvious.

It was Dan Jones, William Faulkner, the arts, the history, James Merideth, the square, those oak trees, Turnrow books, the liberal arts, the white women....its why all kids come to play football at Ole Miss. No other reason... :D

As an non-Ole Miss fan, I do admit that Oxford is a pretty awesome - if you are a white guy. Still not real sure why a black kid from a larger city would find Oxford that great (and I am not in any way insinuating this to be about race). Oxford is just a small town and really doesn't have an urban scene to speak of.

I guess white womez have broad appeal... :D
