When people say "jesus H christ" what does the H stand for? I have always wondered.4dawgma wrote:jesus H christ! just go fishing and have fun! you'll figure it out...

Well, it was tough but fun trip. 42 hours on the boat, 2-4' seas (just rough enough to keep your shins beat up), something in the neighborhood of 200 miles of trolling, and we totally missed the bite. We boated three fish and threw two then back. There was a two day tournament going on that was on about the same schedule that we were and they didn't do much better than we did. We did stalk a school of yellow fin tuna around the gulf for about three hours. Every time we would get on top of them they would go down and surface a minute later a mile away. They were huge fish. Watching them feed from a distance was like watching someone dropping Volkswagons into the ocean. I hate we didn't put fish in the boat, but it was good trip none the less.

i have really grown to dislike the guys in sportfishers who "stalk" yf tuna. Not your fault though.
I had 7 for the weekend, burned a lot less fuel. And just an FYI, this weekend is as flat as it gets. It was gorgeous.

Yep, beautiful weekend. Saturday night and Sunday was really flat. Friday night and Saturday was a little rough on us landlubbers.
I can see how folks chasing fish around the gulf could get frustrating. It didn't seem at all effective either. Having never seen them before it was interesting to me, but in the future I would prefer making a pass at them and then leaving them alone.
