Sorry for your loss.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

"In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love" [Mother Teresa]
"The things that matter most in our lives are not fantastic or grand. They are the moments when we touch one another, when we are 'there' in the most attentive or caring way." [Jack Kornfield]
Almost every Sunday was Father’s Day. I’d pick him up, we’d get a lunch and take it to a spot that overlooks the ‘Tenn-Tom’. We would catch-up on the latest news and events in our lives…..and try to spot Canada geese swimming around. Dad became really good at spotting them after the first few trips and it was a source of great joy (for both of us) when he spotted one before I did. When we talked, we left nothing to chance and held nothing back…..letting each other know how we felt about the other and discussing the important business of life.
Since he started having trouble the end of March, we haven’t been able to sit on the riverbank and watch the geese and just say whatever was on our minds. I tried to use that as motivation during his re-hab……so we could resume our routine. As time went-on it became apparent he would no longer be able to go with me to the river.
This past week while in town, I got a sandwich and went back to the river bank alone. The first thing I spotted was several groups of geese – they had completed their hatch and all had little goslings. I was immediately overcome with joy……and sadness …….then joy, knowing Dad was right there with me........he spotted them long before I got there.
Dad and I have always been 'connected' (in spirit) - and it is apparent (since his passing), we remain 'connected'.
He is now.....everywhere I go.
We are only here for a short time. Live in the moment, make every moment count. Savor every instance a memory is born so you will never forget.
Here's a musical tribute to his loving and tender spirit, love, tribulation, perseverance, loss, sorrow, joy of re-connection with his spirit, and the joy of God’s everlasting love as shown through a wonderful Father.
