i walked, glad i did. But then again, i was typical college student who had invested an entire 5 years of my life there. It was cool to be able to walk and share it with the people who supported me through the process. also cool to be able to walk and do it with the buddies whom i got to share the entire 5 years with. damn, how i miss those days. IF i were to start college now, had a family and all that good stuff, honestly it prob wouldn't mean as much to me... jmo.

don't regret my decision one bit, heck i reminisced of those moments this past weekend as i got to watch my sister walk across that stage. dang how much i miss those college days!

Well, you are 39 years of age and probably doesn't matter that much to your parents. That is just a guess, but in general I feel that everyone should walk at their commencement address. Although it may not mean anything to the person receiving the diplomat, it is something that represents a moment of pride for people that love you.

If for anything a person receiving a degree should do it for their parents who in many instances sacrificed much in order to help you achieve that goal. A graduate should walk out of respect for that sacrifice, and give their loved ones an opportunity to have that sense of pride.

That's just my opinion.

Jr. walked at Ole Miss this weekend....

Had to sit through Myrlie Evers-Williams (Medgar Evers wife) and her racist crap speech.
Dude from Ole Miss even apologized to her about how the school and the state treated her husband.
It was revolting...

She made the statement that she didnt understand why she was invited to speak. We agree... other than some liberal dude getting to apologize to her publicly on a huge stage. It was gross and way out of line.

Heard the same thing from my roommate who walked.

He said it was pretty much a civil rights speech, which is a shame. Glad I went home to hang out with the family this weekend instead.

Well thats no suprise coming from Ole Piss. They caved years ago and gave up Col Reb and became the Black Bears. They didn't have the balls to stand up to the dems and libs and blacks. I never really liked Ole Piss but after that I really had no respect for them. The student body didn't even put up much of a resistance.

One of the paramount goals of the Communist Party USA's platform was to capture control of the educational system in America. What you see happening at Ole Miss happens everywhere in the world of Academia. While 80% of the campus may be fine Conservative Southerners, 90% of the Professors and leadership are raving progressives. So progressive that they are essentially Socialist. A lot of it has to do with the influence of the Law School and the close association with Plaintiff attorney's and the Democratic party. I have seen plenty of conservative minded Americans, go to law school, become a ambulance chaser etc... and allow greed to push them toward the Democratic party and their progressive ideas.
