Someone mentioned God and Satan. Ya'll remember awhile back when that boy killed himself and some self-righteous fool got on here talking about what he "would" and "wouldn't" do? I remember telling that fellow that I have seen evil in a person's eyes that I know and love. It was not of their soul, etc, etc. Now, did anyone read in the Clarion Ledger the suicide letter of that boy? If ya did, you'll know what I meant, if ya didn't, go read it- and read his father's comments.
There is pure and unadulterated Evil in this world that is just waiting for a human being who will let it. This is one evil, sad, unthinkable act, but don't think for one second that Evil can't do even worse.
I was in the swamp yesterday from daylight until after dark with my phone cut off. I didn't even know about the shooting until around 7 PM. My, my the dichotomy of this world and the one where I was at. Maybe that monster should've stepped outside and took a breath of fresh air... I imagine he was probably of the pop culture type- weird as hell. Kids are freaking weird nowadays. Weird. I am sure he has some sort of "mental disorder" that made him feel righteous in his act, if not empowered by his handicap. I am not saying he did not have mental issues, but society today almost empowers these people by giving them a "poor, poor Adam" pat on the back. Someone probably ignored the facts and signs and warnings becuase of legal or political correctness procedures.
So he had a bad day? Cope with it. Just because life throws curve balls doesn't give you a pass to be an idiot. Hard times certainly open us humans up to being influenced by Evil- but it is no excuse to carry out evilness. But then again- and I firmly believe this- we cannot overcome, by ourselves, Evil, and it's constant, nonstop chiding at our souls... it is harmless at first but will almost always lead to some varying degree of a person being "fed up". And anyone other than the devout believer is susceptible. And therein lies the root of what I believe is the problem that comes from all acts of evil- a problem that non-believers cannot grasp and one that God-haters will never acknowledge and will use to lead non-believers over the cliff: It ain't God that made the guy pull the trigger. In fact, it was the the missing presence of Him. I can't even get my dog to quit peeing on tires, what in this world makes me believe I can make it through trials and tribulations that exist by using anything of man? We do Evil because we chose not to lean on Him. He gives us free will to do as we please. In terms of our free will and our power to overcome evil, in whatever varying degree said evil is- from stealing cookies from grandma to stealing someone's life- it is akin to putting up a picket fence to stop a stampede, it ain't gonna hold up for long.
To the non-believers on the board who chastise the believers (who are just as imperfect as non-believers, we know and should embrace this), please do not read the next part, it may be offensive, but I don't care. It may sound like fairy tale stuff, but I don't care. So, spare me. Feel free, though, to read further and ponder life's questions like the rest of us (Christians can think for themselves).
You know the satan in The Scriptures that pop culture has made out to be a scary man with red horns? The one who knows it is in his best interest to have society believe he is a fairytale? He can carry on at will because folks don't believe in him, or if they do, they have somehow been led to believe that they can simply shun the little guy off, he is nothing. Why in the world would we partake in anything even remotely evil if we knew and understood and feared the devious-turned horrendous actions of Satanic evil? To me, being a fearer-of-God is fearing and giving Evil his due. Not due in the manner we humans think of it, but giving him a "nod of attention, I know you're there, now keep ya distance" type due.. to ignore Evil is dangerous, to downplay Evil is stupid. I think this is a major downfall of the church. And being raised in it for years and leaving it for a long while, I believed for a very long time that Lucifer is just an old fool, a "concept" a "myth"- right up there with the easter bunny, the stork, santa and the tooth fairy. And when I left, I didn't believe in the devil. Evil was something from us humans- just like the rest of the fundamental facts of life. But, one day I thought, "Well, how do we gauge evil? Or good? Or greed? Where did our standards come from?" So goes the dozens and dozens of questions I began to ask that no other human and our technology can answer.
Evil is a thing that is part of this universe just like black and white, just like happy and sad, just like greedy and generous, just like lying and truth, etc etc. But one thing that is for sure- all of the above fall under GOOD and EVIL. In whatever varying degree said good or evil is- it doesn't matter. Good will become of this- these situations like this shooting will send ripple effects throughout history- both good and bad. I assure anyone reading this blabbering post, that you did something today so trivial as dropping a penny and leaving it to lie, that will have an effect on history. Every day and every human and every action is a drop in the bucket.
We had better take evil, which is nothing short of demonic hell on planet earth, very VERY seriously.

I came in and went almost right to bed last night so this shooting is all still very new to me. Watching those children walk out of that school hands on each others shoulders is enough to break me down. Those children that are dead will be fine. Make no mistake- the reason the images of the children that are alive breaks me down, is because of the ones that are not. But those children that are alive have experienced something that very few men on this forum could fathom other than our veterans and maybe some law enforcement - seeing dozens of people they know very well murdered in cold blood. They are innocent. I only pray that their innocence is their Saving Grace in getting them through this. I just hope that later on in life they (and every other human) wakes up every morning remembering and knowing the reality that trials and tribulations WILL come and they will NOT be easy. Today could be mine..or your's time to hit the hard road. All I can tell myself is things like this are part of the price we pay to partake in humanity.
