Laredos Forage Soybeans planted on 5.18.12. Same property as my earlier pics but a different area. I like their look and height.

Ok. Finally got my website working.

The corn. Some of it has broken over since being mature for nearly 3 months now. Had a solid stand of barnyard grass come up under the corn in this pond in July when the corn started dying.

Image

In my other corn pond I had a solid stand of barnyard that matured after the corn died and then a solid stand of crabgrass that came up and matured after that. Smartweed way in the back (dark red) that I disked a few lanes through and where it came up to the far end of the corn.
Image

A moist soil pond I had rice in last year. The muskrats tunneled in the levee late winter and the water found a crack by my drain pipe. Water was gone in late February. Barnyard grass took off and was dead by June. Smartweed started coming on strong as well as a little sedge. Late July I could see the bermuda was going crazy so I mowed about a foot off the ground and got it to where I could spray with my ATV. Hit it twice with Select which worked on the bermuda but left the smartweed unharmed. Smartweed came on back and headed out. Maybe I won't have to worry with this particular bermuda next spring but I see that the cattails are getting happy. Got to keep an eye on them before they go crazy.
