I can't believe no one has mentioned (or maybe I missed it) the Holland & Holland and Beretta gun rooms. They are like museums for amazing guns. Holland & Holland used to have a safari rifle of Hemingway's they would let you take out of the display case, and Beretta has some of the most beautiful shotguns you'll ever see. Check them out.

Get a car and leave the city ASAP. Adirondacks is where it is at.

definatly check out time's square. Also find a pizza place that cooks with a brick oven. Very good stuff. Even thought they are expensive, you need to experience a cab ride while you're there. Take the subway everywhere else.

Check out the bar at the top of the strand hotel at night, middle of the city.

Also Greenwich village at night is a sight to see, actually lots of good restaurants in Greenwich on 7th ave in walking distance.

The meatball shop in lower east is one of the best mid priced casual places in the city, be prepared to waitin line.

College guys, you'll spend all your time in times square...Flashdancers and Centerfolds....watch out for the russian girls...

For sure take a tour of the city on a double decker. I enjoyed that more than anything. Don't waste your time on Staten Island or statue of liberty. And a tour of Yankee stadium is you care anything about the history of baseball. I hate the yankees but the tour is pretty cool.

Grimaldi's Pizza - the best and cheapest meal I had while there. Take the subway to the brooklyn bridge, walk across the bridge, Grimaldi's is on the other side (in Brooklyn) under the bridge. Get there early because the line can get long.

If you carry a checkbook like wallet change it to a money clip and carry the essentials only in your front pocket! The pickpockets are very sly, and if you carry it in the front pocket it is harder for them to get to it. Never carried a long wallet but got my billfold jacked out of my back pocket in NYC.

Don't know how we got to do it when I went with them fam back in 02' but see if you can go to the empire state building at night, if its clear it is a very cool sensation to see the big apple at night.

If you go to the Statue of Liberty , Get a hot dog with everything from one of the hotdog stands. Honestly the best hot dog i have ever ate.

I have been to NYC several times. Go ahead and get the five day subway pass it will take you about anywhere you want to go. If you like museums go to the MET it is one of the best museums I have ever been to, and I have been to louve,the one in London, and amsterdam. See I broadway show if that is your thing if not go to the bars on the lower east side. Go ahead and spend the $$$ and take a cab at night. They have a lot of good places to, but try primivera on the upper east side it is awesome if you can get a reservation.

My wife and I arrived there after the thank given parade about six years ago and went to little Italy for a late lunch. We met a limo driver sitting next to us started up a conversation. He bought our meal took us on a tour and dropped of at our hotel before he had to pick up some guy from the UN, so all new York folks aren't that bad.

Katzs deli, carmines, normas, topaz, stage deli, are all awesome places to eat. Check out the Chelsea market for sure it is awesome.

I went to NY last month and I believe that to see ground zero you have to be drawn to get a tour. I didn't try to go but a local there told me you have to enter your name online to be drawn to get to go see it. It is covered by fences and to see the fountain you need to get a pass online and it isn something you can just walk up and look at.

Prepare to hear more horns honked in an hour there than you do in years in MS.

Also every person I talked to was really nice and honestly more helpful and patient than the typical person around here who hates there job so God forbid you ask them anything. They were hospitibal and the woman love guys from the south and there is a huge girl to guy ratio from what I could tell. They were everywhere and all dressed up perfectly with designer clothes and what not.

...headed out of nyc. it was fun and we saw some interesting sights (and sites), but glad to see it shrinking as we get further away.
