I've got the 3800 lumen cree light too. This thing is crazy bright. I just found another one on amazon. It's 8500 lumens. it looks similar to the 3800 but has one more battery and 7 led bulbs instead of 3 bulbs like the 3800.

You think you could rig these up hard wired for the front of a boat?

I don't know about this one, but they have other ones that have separate battery packs with wires, so I don't see why you couldn't use it with them. However, with all the hassle, and as much as I love these lights, a couple KC style lights would certainly do the job.

For you guys that have bought the recharable lights, how are they holding up?

i am considering this one:

I think it was a 1600 rechargeable one I bought last year. It's ok but I hardly use it. I use my small one that's runs on one aa all season

The 3800 is holding up great. I've got 2 sets of batteries. I just ordered the 1600 that uses the same batteries so I'll have 5 batteries and 2 lights. I can get batteries cheap so I'll replace them as needed.

I got my little ones in yesterday, they will run off one AA battery but if you want max output(300 Lumens) get the actual battery, its a 3.7 volt 14500, rechargeable. then they are the bomb

Can someone post a link to the small AA lights you're referring to?

ebay. search 14500 batteries. I can't believe they make it brighter than it is now. has anyone run tests to see?
