Been meaning to post on here for a while but just now getting around to it. If any of you guys go to Orange Beach, it's worth a trip to Pensacola to get some decent beer and to eat a HopJack's. The wife and I went over the Fourth, and I was able to find a decent selection to bring home ...

you can get those in orange beach at a couple of the liquor stores (b/c of the %alc) on the main highway. got some good stuff there last year (even had delerium and chimay). the lady at the store said they were starting to get a good inventory built up and others were beginning to get walk-ins built for beer, too. the store i got it at also has a deli, near one of the marinas-zeke's i think, and sells deliriums for $20 a beer with meals....liquor store had 'em for $26/4pack  .

I was in Orange Beach this past weekend and could not find any good beer, other than the Sweetwater "Tackle Box" that I scored at Publix. If anyone can find the Sweetwater Motor Boat, it is some good stuff!
I went to two liquior stores in OB and they did not have swat. Guess I did not find the "good" one. :?
That's okay that 12pk of Miller High Life tasted mighty fine by the pool. 8)
Cheers!

can't remember the name, but it was on the west side of zeke's, may have been a mile or so. it was the far left store in a 3 or 4 store strip just off the highway and had a good many bright neon liquor signs on the front....that's all i can remember....i'll see if i can find it online- data servers are down due to an ac issue, so i'm dead in the water for a lil while.....

Edit* these are from free the hops community:

"There is a package store in front of Zekes they carry the new stuff" (i think this is seaside liquors)

"I was in the Gulf Shores area and spotted some good stuff; Bells Two Hearted Ale, Sweetwater products, at a place called TOBACCO ROAD right next door to Hazels."

I'm pretty sure that breweries like Stone and DFH don't distribute in AL (yet??). That's why we made a trip over to FL. I actually found the Great Divide in Orange Beach at a random seafood shop that had a beer cooler in the back with a couple (older) cases of stuff. I looked in a couple grocery stores and liquor stores in Orange Beach while we were there, but they pretty much had what you can get here (MS) plus a couple of offerings from Sweetwater (the 420 and the Blue) ..

I bought a six pack of two hearted ale last Friday night. It is full bodied and full of hops. I had one Sunday night with dinner and was not dissappointed.

Abita has a commenerative 24 oz beer out right now. Glass bottle with shrimp boots, dubbed SOS "Save our shore". Its a pilsner. I had one last weekend, awesome, really liked it.

Gator, come down to NOLA, you can get anything you want here. Heck there are at least a half dozen local breweries that have stuff on the supermarket shelves right now.
