Right, because McDaniel was going to be able to stop all of that.

And out of the other side of our mouth we say, just not our guy. Seems pretty silly to me. I guess some like lifetime politicians that are not in touch with what
really happens in Ms. If you never come to Ms, there is no way you can be grounded in what Ms really is about. It was God's will that Cochran went back in
to office. We will never understand it so let it rest, and move on. If you want to term limit Cochran, vote for Childers, if you can stomach him for 6 years. I personally don't see much difference Childers & Cochran. Only benefit voting for Childers will give the people of Ms is that maybe we will get a good republican to
run against him in 2021 instead of allowing the GOP establishment to pick OUR representative for us in a year or two when Thad retires. \
That is your choice to make at the voting booth in November, just like it was the black voter's choice Tuesday.
I'm torn over it myself. I can't see myself voting for Cochran and going against my own principles, but I don't know if I can stomach 6 years of democrat
representing me in DC. It's bad enough I don't have any representation from Benny Thompson. Really should focus hard next election cycle and organizing
a crossover vote to get rid of him just like they did with Cochran. Beat them at their own game. Hard decision coming in November. Not sure I can
pull the lever for Cochran.
Unfortunately your thoughts are not alone. I have seen a lot of facebook folks of people saying the same thing.

So just out of curiousity, what happens if the McDaniel crew gets done with the audit I voters and the margin is back to where it was before the runoff? Word on the street is a good many of dem voters already voted in the dem primary.

I very rarely get involved in political arguments. I prefer limited federal government and have a very narrow view of what the federal government should provide to its people. When you boil it down to it lowest common denominators, I believe the only absolute duty of the congress that has to be done on an annual basis is to pass a budget. We don't need new laws, we don't need new social programs. We need to fund the ones on the books, and if there's not enough tax revenue to fund them, we need to cut the ones we can't afford.
Every last one of them sap sucking b@$t@rd$ have allowed the federal government to grow so big that it had to shut down because these leeches can't pass a balanced budget, especially those that have been on the hill for twenty or more years. The only people that should have suffered are the ones who failed to perform their duties. But, when all the chips fell, it was the citizens that paid the price for their incompetence. As far as I'm concerned, every last one of them needs to be voted out...even Thad Cochran.

With term limits, they wouldn't be as worried about getting elected next term, and actually cut what need to be cut.

Were does the article quote anything that Cochran has promised anybody? You realize that Cochran has an A+ rating from the NRA and that they endorsed him in the race, right?

I realize that the NRA has stated that they are now re-evaluating Cochran's rating due to his acceptance of $250k from their largest opponent.
And the article is just reading between the lines. Cochran will probably be gone before he has to pay the piper, but where does that leave Harper
or who ever the establishment makes Phil Bryant appoint. They will come calling and the establishment will pay up. It's just how the game is played.

Devils advocate, but if he wanted to ease the minds of a lot of MS voters, he would have reported the Bloomberg money(or Harper, Barbour, or Tate for him) and sent it back to New York. To think Bloomberg and his agenda dont want a foothold in one of the most pro gun conservative states in the union and wont call in a favor at some point and a vote for his agenda is asinine. If you believe otherwise, you're naive.
Has Cochran denounced promising any favors for the "help" he recieved? I havent seen it. Just like in my eyes if Chris McDaniel was for term limits, he would have been wise to put it in writing he is up there for 2 and done. They are all money hungry crooks feeding that war chest.

then "they" better call for their "repayment" whlie he's there to grant it. sure the ideal that it (the favor) will carry over to the appointee is there, but as stated earlier..politics is dirty business. ideals last only as long as the election process.

Cochran has to stay in at least 3 years and 1 day for the Gov to appoint rather than hold a special election. Also, the person appointed has to be a "certified elector"...that could be ole phil himself. Found that interesting.

I didn't support Phil in his primary, I see no reason to support him for any future office.....unless he doesn't have a suitable opponent that is. May be the
only future political opportunity he has and he's definitely an opportunist so it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
