Wow! I guess I just don't see this as the end of the world... Some poor kid gets to live and I help pay for it... I don't see how that is a terrible thing... Maybe my head is in the sand though...

Whiel soem poor kid gets to live, some lazy no good SOB gets anothe free ride in an ambulance for a damn headache and you and I pay for it.

The underlieng issue is more than "healthcare" it is the fact that the GOV can now force you to buy something!!! Do you not understand this.

You want to buy a Chevy, but the gove now requires you to buy a Ford
You like to shoot a remington, but now the gov. says you must shoot a mossberg (assuming you can still have damn gun in the near future)
You like Coke, gove says drink Pepsi
You don't want to pay into a 401K for retirement, gove says you have to
You want this the gov says you have to have that
etc..etc...etc...


Do you understand this isn;t as much about Health care as it is the gov. creeping too far into our lives and telling us what to do and not to do and what we have to purchase and not purchase, where we can go and not go!!!!

Not so much that they will tell you to buy a Chevy over a Ford, as much as they will now TAX you for buying the Ford instead of the chevy, or they will TAX you for buying that softdrink that makes you fat, or they will TAX you for not paying your fair share so that a "Non Contributor" can have healthcare. (Which won't matter anyway, because there won't be any doctors left, because they will quit because the Gov. tells them how much to charge for everything, or they will be TAXED) Roberts decision to say that it is a TAX and is allowed by the constitution may be correct, but it is now our responsibility to hold the members of congress accountable for it. ^^^^^ And THAT is why, I think, Chief Justice Roberts sided the way he did in making his decision. It is not the courts job to protect us from ourselves when we make mistakes. It is our job to protect ourselves by not making the mistakes in the first place. And when we DO make mistakes, to learn from them and accept the consequences of our actions. (And correct them as quickly as possible.)

Just because something CAN be done, does not mean that it SHOULD be done. Can the government force us to buy insurance? Yes. That has not only been upheld by the SCOTUS decision, but in our states as well. (Remember, we are required by state law to have automobile insurance too.) Can they force us to buy something else? Based on this ruling, yes. Should they be allowed to force us to purchase certain items? Absolutely not!

Heck, I'd like for them to repeal all gun control laws from the books. (You wanna use a RPG for home defense? Go ahead. Of course, when you blow up your house because Pookey tried to steal your lawnmower, don't be surprised if I use an AK-47 on you because a flaming piece of your SUV came crashing through my roof.) I think that would not only deter crime in the streets, but it may also deter crime in the government as well. Think about it.
