I like all the Southern Magnolia Brews.
I love Fat Tire but it tastes better in the Rockies.
Big fan of Red Stripe, especially on a beech on an island.
Hieneken is great with seafood, but Hieneken Lite is better.
Labatt Blue goes down good with some wings.
Abita Turbodog is pretty good.
Shiner Bock or Killians Red with a steak or cajun fare.
Bud Light, Mich Ultra, or Coors Light with football, baseball, pizza, hamburgers, car washing, yard mowing, and wood splitting.

I once won a pitcher of New Castle of a guy in a game of pool. I tried it and politely gave it back to him!

southern pecan tastes a lot like new castle to me, but better! both nut brown ales, but i've never had new castle from draft...so it may taste completely different from bottles.

Now that you mention it, I'll agree. I guess that's why Southern Pecan is my least favorite of the Southern Magnolia brews.

i thought about that possibility after i posted. the only offerings we have here are southern pecan, golden summer, indian ale and reb ale, so my experience is lacking in quite a few of their line of beers..... reb ale is my least favorite of those listed (and not because i'm in bulldog country), the 6 i tried didn't seem to have much decernable taste except for the after taste....but most of what i drink is on the bitter side.

You taught me something. I had no idea there were six brews. All we get here is Southern Pecan, Reb Ale, and Indian Summer. The Gulf Porter and the Southern Gold Sound interesting (looked at the web site) but I don't know about the Jefferson Stout. Never been much of a stout fan.

bigbee, just had the harpoon leviathon iipa - awesome! not quite dogfish good, but not too far off, either. the aroma of it didn't jump out of the glass(frosty mason jar) like dogfish, but the flavor "bursts" like it.

All time favorite is Beamish. But it's little thick for most folks, sorta Guiness with a lot more hair.

I live about five miles from Diplomat Deli (in a state where many good beers are sold!), so there are always good new brews to try out. If you get a chance, try one of the offerings from Bell's brewery. The Bell's Best is a really good brew. Their amber ale is pretty good , too.
Never assume.
