Wish I could see a picture of the print. Which camp is it? Is it the next little house just to the north of the bridge? If so then I have a connection to it also.

Not sure how rare but a lot of history there. Not only is the camp significant but my brother in law drowned when their truck ran off that bridge 30 years ago. My father in law and i used to cross that old rickety bridge on 4 wheeler long after it was condemenrd to hunt on Mossy Island. Just a lot of reasons to try and find it.
Mr Smitty your paw in law?
Yep, 15 years now.

No, not Ms Retha's camp. This one has been gone for 20 years or so.

Oh ok I gotcha. My dad and some others built that cabin back in the early 70's along with a bunch of duck blinds. That bridge scared me to death when I was a little kid. There used to be a fender of a car that you could see when the water was low, spooky stuff for a 5 year old.

That fender was actually the tailgate of my father in laws truck. Late 90s, the lake got low and you could see it.
Was your dad's cabin the one right by the landing that was on stilts?

Its the one where the lady lives now, not sure of her name but I believe you said Retha earlier. It was a modular building that had fire damage. They bought it for $150 dollars (remember this was early 70s) and a guy hauled it out there from Indianola. They rebuilt it and added on, poured a slab etc. Dad was partners in it with a man named Jim Hughes from Inverness. They later sold out to Mr. Doc Mitchell from Winona and I believe it is his sister who lives there now.
The cabin on stilts was Neil Pierce's. He was our neighbor across the street in Indianola. His kids sold it or tore it down after he and his wife died. That was a cool cabin also. I remember it was built around trees so when you walked through the house you had tree trunks going up through the rooms. Dad said Mr. Neil bought it from Bill and Lewis Purcell in the late 60s early 70s.

Correct, that was Dr Mitchells sister. She lived in Brandon on the reervir but passed away a couple of years ago. She left it in her will to one of the guys that fishes Mossy all the time.
Lots of cool history on that old lake.

She was one of a kind. Could for ever more catch some crappie.
Funny story. I stopped by one day to check on her adn Fred Reilly was there. They had cooked some snow goose and wanted me to try it. Fred had put so much lemon juice on it and cooked it so long that it tasted like a Justin boot soaked in lemon juice. Retha was watching my face as I bit into it and laughed forever at my reaction. She was a funny ole lady.
