Mine was supposed to be the no scalpel deal. Little hole and done and one side went fine. When he got the tube out of the hole on the left it broke and retracted back. He told my wife the tube on that side was a lot smaller than normal and just fell apart when he went to clamp it. With two loose ends floating around he couldn't work the ends back to the top and out of the hole so he had to cut it open and go find the two loose ends. Wife said I was on the table an hour and she was getting worried because it wasn't suppose to be but 20 minutes. The doc said he was glad I was in the OR instead of his office because he would have had to take me to the OR anyway to finish it. Don't think it was the doc's fault just a complication because I was made funny. Doc said he's never seen that before.

I have the worst luck with medical chit so don't use my experience to decide whether to have it done or not. Everything I've read said it's very quick and not a big deal. Much easier for the guy to get fixed than the wife.

It took 20 minutes. Did not hurt. I lounged in my bed for two days and was bowhunting 4 days after the procedure. As good an experience as one could hope for when your balls and a knife are involved.

Got mine cut several years ago. It wasn't to bad at all.. kinda felt like you got racked for about a day but back to work soon after. The jock and some ice is a good idea. Don't lift anything heavy for awhile. Bumpin' uglies doesn't seem any different....

I wish the doc would have given out complementary truck hitch testicles for each happy customer!

Well you have to be smart enough to go back for your follow up and make sure you don't have any swimmers.........

The vas tube can recanulaize (sp?) I know I spelled that way wrong just means grow back together. That is one of those 2% chance that it wont work type of things. If you follow post op instructions to the t and get the swimmers tested you should be ok. Its like anything else it can fail just sucks somebody gets the taters hacked on then finds out opps you are in the 2% of the population this happens to.

I can't imagine that conversation going over too well.

Nurse at the doc's office told me about one of their patients who had a kid years after the vasectomy. He couldn't or wouldn't believe it was his and forced a DNA test. It was his and his wife filed for divorce because he didn't have faith in her. Don't really understand that. If he had doubts there are ways he could have done the DNA test without her figuring it out. I thought Walgreen's had test where you could swab cheeks and test that way without anybody the wiser.

I totally understand the reasons for gettting this procedure done, but I'm still surprised at how many MSduckers have had this done. I'll probably have it done at some point in the future (only 27 now and not married). I hope by then they've developed a vasectomy pill
