Yap ate my words!!! I use to be Gun ho on them Yeti's but now after seening a ice tek.....And all the others that's been put out I'm not not so much on them anymore.

I got one as a gift and really like it. I probably wouldn't pay for one out of my own pocket though. As far as keeping ice, it does keep ice a good while longer than a regular cooler if you leave it closed. If you're constantly opening it then the ice will last as long as in any other cooler. So I wouldn't suggest buying one for an everyday beer cooler. However, if you need to keep some fresh ice for a couple days while you're away from civilazation then the Yeti is what you need. Another plus to the Yeti is the way it's made, they're VERY durable and as long as no one steals it from you it'll last you a lifetime. You'll never have to worry about buying another one. Also, if you're approached by a grizzly bear in Ms. while duck hunting, all you have to do is shrink yourself into a little ball and get inside the Yeti and you'll be safe. Once the grizzly has eaten all of your hunting buddies you can come out and take possession of their shotguns, bands and any other cool stuff of theirs that you may want. So if you look at it in these terms, it may be worth more than they're asking for them.

I bought an 85 qt. and I don't think it is worth the $$. With the heat these days no ice chest will hold ice for a day or more. While the water from the ice stays cool/cold, the ice seems to disappear quickly. If you need to hold the ice longer in this heat I would go with a regular cooler and drop a block of dry ice in there.

Yes, they would be great for a special occasion. Christmas, B'days, Uradouche day, etc..

We bought a 5 day extreme cooler( dark blue rig, big joker) to put fish in, it is not the tough cooler that the yeti is and the hinges will break and all the other downfalls of a cheap cooler, but It will hold ice just as long as the yeti. Thats a fact. Did the test.

To those guys that say they aren't worth the money, you obviously haven't bought enough cheap igloo's and coleman's. They are well worth the money if you actually use a cooler. They are hard to justify if you use a cooler once a month, but for the guys that actually use coolers daily, they can't be beat. The hinges don't break, they don't crack around the corners and handles and the lid doesn't blow off. Also, they don't absorb odor like the cheaper coolers do.

They are well worth the money in my opinion. Have a 45 quart and love it! This may sound stupid but alot of it depends on what kind of ice you put in it. If i put two bags of good hard frozen ice in it , it will keep ice for two days in the back of my truck in the sun. with it 98 degrees i might add. I promise you an igloo won't stand up to that. What I have noticed more than anything is how cold it makes the beer!!!

I just stay with the basic igloo cooler. It might only last a year or two,but if it breaks, gets stolen, or I just lose I don't give a s??t. I just go get a new one
