RIO shells
Re: RIO shells
The second weekend of Sept last year I shot 15 birds with 21 shells on the Rios. A couple of them were blackbirds but i sure had 15 birds.
This is no longer a vacation, this is a quest, a quest for fun---Chevy Chase.

Re: RIO shells
There are some Rio's in Greenwood for $12 a box .......I laughed. That is a $7 a box shell shipped.
Re: RIO shells
I have never shot them before but picked up a few boxes the other day to try out.

Quite often sporting goods stores will purchase collectively to drive down the price. This is a pretty common occurance and it probably the cause of what you are seeing on the shelves.deltadukman wrote:but why is it every year there seems to be one brand of shell that everyone carries and seems like the only dove shell in town.......

Re: RIO shells
Rio makes the best teal load on the market.
Re: RIO shells
Just depends on which manufacturer steps up to the plate the biggest at which dealer show. Since RIO came to the U.S., they have really been putting the pressure on the big boys! Pretty good shell and has some pretty good components inside too. Their steel is still lacking in performance a little but their High brass lead loads for the money are hard to beat! Farris Brothers is a major supplier in this tri-state area and push em real hard. That's why you see em in so many stores in MS.deltadukman wrote:My store of choice has them too.
Not to hijack, but why is it every year there seems to be one brand of shell that everyone carries and seems like the only dove shell in town. This year its Rios, seems like last year was Fiocci, One year it was those Diosoni's, then it will be Estates. How come it seems that shotshell brands seem to come in waves?
