I was never privileged to see colt run, but all I've ever heard are just the same stories you see on here about how magnificent animal he was in his prime. I did get to see colt even in his older age and the look in his eyes and the ground pounding run was still there. A prime example of exactly what we all try to get w/ a hunt test dog, hunting dog, or companion. Steve my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear it steve, and like everyone else you and colt are some of the reasons I got into the dog games. I was actually fortunate to see colt run in some of the later tests that he did, although a few times he would come back to the truck limping he still wanted to continue, there was no stop in that dog. RIP Colt.......

Steve,

I am so very sorry to hear about GRHRCH Colt. He was a very special dog in your life and many others.

At the Memphis Grand where Colt earned his Grand title was when I met you. I believe we were waiting to run the series in the beaver pond and Bruce Shoup was one of the judges. You stopped and visited with me and told me about your websites message board. I have never forgotten that.

Treasure the memories.

Janet

What a dog! What a life he gave! What a life life he and Steve gave each other!.

A kinder gentler dog did not exist. Such warm & loving eyes, a loving posture every time you got near him that just screamed "love me, love me, cuz I love you!".

The letters, ribbons, etc, etc.......AWESOME! Most awesome of all, he was our "folk"! Steve's folk!

So blessed to have known him. So excited to one day see him again.

Steve, there is no question, he will be waiting on you when it's time for you to go. Make sure you get to see him again.

We love you brother!

There are certainly no words to say just how much Colt will be missed by all of his Southern Flight family. He was a great dog and companion. I know that he along with Eddie and others are playing a game of chase or maybe just chillin'.

Remember all of the fun, until ya'll meet again.

Words cannot express the sadness in my heart, for those of you that don't know Steve , he is one of the most unselfish people i know, with the lose of Colt, he saw the weather today and called to check on my family , said he was closer to them than me if i needed him to do anything! you cannot put enough emphasis on how much that means too me or how much Steve means to me, Colt was an exceptional animal, i wasn't lucky enough to see him in his prime , but was lucky enough to throw bumpers for him to see how much want to, desire and fire in his eyes, with a look like daddy please let me go some more , just to hear Steve say ole man you better quit or you willl be stove up tonight, Steve i am so sorry brother for the loss of your buddy , if you need me you know i will be there!

RIP Colt you will be missed!

Steve sorry for your loss. I know from all the stories that Colt set bar for all the dogs in this area. Glad you were able to touch so many of us because of him. Dogs are remarkable animals, hope you can remember all those good times with him.

it's amazing how much these dogs give us......way more than just picking up birds on a cold morning.

Glad I can say I got to see him run once. Sorry for your loss Steve.
