The spot I like to clean fish doesn't have an outlet near by and I don't feel like blue gumming some setup with 200 feet of extension cord and other BS. I enjoy cleaning fish, especially a $#!+ ton of them. Crack a beer, get the grease/grill hot, make it a social thing. All about personal pace and enjoyment.

You traditional guys come spend a few days with me down in Venice! After a few days of cleaning 150-300 fish I promise you will be ready for an electric knife. I went traditional after Katrina when we had no power down at the camp for 3 months, I didn't like it one bit!

I love mine just not for cleaning fish. The one with a 4" blade is very handy. Great gift idea too.

There's a lot of us on here that spend a lot of time cleaning a lot of big fish. We get it, you like the electric knife. Different strokes.

I just cleaned 300 pds of catfish in 2 days and I did it with a cold beer and a filet knife. You tend to pay closer attention to detail when you are doing it by hand IMO. Just never thought about cleaning a fish with a chainsaw.

electric. I have burned up about every one too. I was going through 3 american anglers a summer. The last one I got mad and threw across the yard and it hung on the electric line.

I went to the mister twister and am on the second one in about 4 yrs. It holds up a lot better.

I can not even guess the number of fish those green and yellow knives have cleaned.
There will be a day....

Bought a Rapala electric that was on sale at Bass Pro during their Fishing Classic. We'll see how it holds up this summer.

I have had the Rapala Electric for two years now and it has gotten the job done. It has a 20ft cord and it also has a 12 Volt adaptor and Gator clips for a 12 volt battery. Clean fish any time anywhere. It is sweet.

I had the rapala one and I hated that dam thing! You had to push that little saftey button everytime and the motor got really hot when cleaning fish. I threw it away. I also hated that you always had to plug in that inverter with 30 foot of extra cord everytime.

You snatch that safety button out with a pair of needle nose. I like the cord, dont need an extension cord and you can clip to your battery under your hood and clean fish on the tailgate

Didn't say you didn't. My response was for the people that say you get more meat with a regular knife than electric. I can't tell you how many times I have heard that and have yet to see it proven correct.

Get a good quality electric knife, go down to Venice Marina and let some of those hands show you how to clean a fish. Anytime Im dealing with a lot of fish, Im going electric!!
