I don't know whether to believe this or not. Avian cholera kills? Does it really exist? Let me ask my pal google.

Talked to my buddy houston havens, mdwfp waterfowl biologist this week and he said the feds tested a large number of snow geese and it came back avian cholera.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this something that is dangerous to humans? Should I not handle these birds? I know you weren't trying to scare anyone, just don't want to take any chances.

Blackduck and i found 4 or 5 in our field after daylight Christmas eve. The geese have been roosting there. Since then I have been seeing them almost every hunt out there.

went to my lease in tunica this weekend and the geese have been roosting in our fields now. We had about 500 on Friday and we didnt mess with them, went to scout for ducks. Went back saturday and that afternoon we had about 3 dead in our flooded fields. None of them had been shot or anything that we can tell.

That is about what we are experiencing. If there are 1000 in the field, there seem to 4 to 6 dead ones the next day. If there are 2-3000 in the field there seem to be 8 or 10 dead the next day. Maybe they wrastle.
